Hoop-Dee-Doo: How do you change from prepaid to DDP?

We made reservations and prepaid for the Hoop-Dee-Doo before we got the DDP set up. Now that we have DDP is there a way to have the prepaid charge reversed when we get there? I understand that is possible for CRT at the podium, but I'm not quite sure about Hoop-Dee-Doo.

I think there is still availability for the time we want, so we could cancel and rebook, but is there any advantage to having made an earlier reservation with the Hoop-Dee-Doo?

If they are available, you can just call the dining number and they will do it for you. I had to do that for a CRT reservation. The CM had to get a supervisor to do it, but it is doable. However, when I made my reservations last week for Hoop-Dee-Doo the week of Thanksgiving, the CM told me that there were not any DDP reservations available, but I could pay. You will just have to call and see what is available. You might be able to opt for a different day/time; I was just down to my last reservation and needed a specific night so I didn't have a lot of options (and am obviously not trying to to do this 180 days out). I forgot to mention that the CM also told me that I could log in to my reservation under My Disney Vacation and attach my vacation reservation to my Disney log in and then any reservation I make online will allow me the choice of DDP (this may only be for those you have to pay for now like CRT and Hoop-Dee-Doo, but I am not certain about that). So far I have had no luck signing in to my vacation but am hopeful when the site has been updated tomorrow that I will be able to do this.

It can be done - I just did it on Tuesday. It was a bothersome process for the CMs, though, which is perhaps why they told you it couldn't be done. When there is no availability to just re-book, they have to call a dining supervisor to force the change. It seriously took 30 minutes for me to switch HDDR and CRT, but I'm happy not to be worrying about it.

The DDP only covers certain categories of seats at the Hoop De Doo:
tiers 2 and 3 at 5 and 7:15
tier 1 at 9:30

so before you call and spend a lot of time on the phone, make sure your seats are eligible for the DDP.
