Hoop-Dee-Doo food

Been and have come back and couldn't have been MORE pleased! I spoke to the podium people and we were served boneless chicken breasts with BBQ sauce and a huge skillet of grilled veggies. It was enough food for another meal back in our OKW kitchen (the night we were suddenly hungry at midnight and couldn't get any CS).

This was at the 9:30 show. We were so lucky- the rules were relaxed on 8/19 so that we could get Category 1 seating on the DDP (take note if you don't know this already!) so we had great food, great seats and an awesome, non-guilty dinner.:wizard:

ALSO- for anyone who doesn't know this (I didn't) -- there are buses waiting outside the late show to take people directly back to the resorts! I thought I'd have to go on the interior bus, then the FW bus to DTD, then boat back to OKW if I didn't have a car.

Just got back and I have to say, the food was excellent. I just love the atmosphere couldn't find anything bad to say about the food. Free draft beer too, can't beat that!

My husband and our friends went to the HDD this past Friday. We had previously seen the show about 2 years ago. We remember the food being a LOT better last time than this time. The chicken wasn't crispy, the ribs were WAY overcooked, I felt sick by the end of the meal.

Wasn't overly impressed with the food this time around.
ITA. The food has taken a serious dive the last year to two years.

The show is fabulous. I'd still tell people to go just for that. My mouth used to water just in anticipation of the yumminess, but the food just isn't very yummy anymore, IMO. :(

Still an excellent show, though!

I agree that the quality of the food, for what it is, has certainly declined over the 8 years we have been attending HDDR. Not to the point where we find it objectionable, but still noticeably so.

As far as cost goes, I think it's still fair. We never expect fancy dining and really just go for the show while viewing the food as a "throw-in".

and we thought the food was pretty good. The exception was the ribs. Of the three slabs we received, one was very tender and yummy. Two were inedible. I ordered extra legs for DD14...came out and were great! The mashed potatoes were quite good. The beans, just OK. The salad very good. The Sangria.....YUCK! I ordered something else along with the drink and he brought me another sangria (weaker this time)...still YUCK! He was a great waiter though. Do hot get there early. We went to W.L. by mistake (OOPS) and took the boat across and still waited outside for quite a bit. I thought the show was cute and caught DD14 smiling a couple of times, but probably would not do it again. You can't expect much for food and should know this going in, as it is a dinner show for the masses.
