Hoop Dee Doo and Dining Credits

I just made a reservation on line for HDD at 4pm 9/10. I paid up front with a credit card for seating in level 1. How does this work if we are on the dining plan? I am assuming that the plan will not use 2 credits automatically and will know that I am paid in full. I just want to be sure I can schedule these 2 credits somewhere else and not worry about them being used at HDD.

the only show that is available to be used with credits with cat 1 is the 8:30 show. In the earlier shows you can only book 2 and 3 with dining credits. So you will have to pay OOP for what you have booked, even if you wanted to use the plan.

1) You CANNOT charge ressie to DDP credits.
2) DDP credits are not available use in Cat-1, except for the late show.
3) You will stuck paying OOP, unless you cancel and change to Cat-2 or Cat-3.
4) People try this all the time to get around the system, and we stop them.

I think OP wanted to pay out of pocket and not use his dining plan, and if this is the case, just make sure to tell them when you check in, and check your bill when you leave. People do it all the time, I'm sure.

Since you already paid upfront, you are good and it does not take the credits automatically. At each meal where you plan to use dining credits, the server gives you their handheld device and they scan your magic band, and the credits come off there, not anytime before. You will be able to use those credits elsewhere, as you plan on doing. If you were doing the 8:30 show, you could have used dining plan credits to hold the ADR for category 1 seating. But the first 2 shows, dining credits cannot be used for category 1 seating.. you have to pay out of pocket no matter what for category 1 at the 4pm and 6:15pm shows. You are good to go!

I know this wasn't the OPs question, but theirs got me to thinking. Say you book 180 out, but don't have your package with dining booked yet. I know you'd pay, but is there a way to get a refund and using credits once you end up getting the dining plan?

yes pretty sure guest services can issue a refund and apply credits. I think you can do this by phone as well beforehand.
