Hoop Dee Do or Mickey's backyard BBQ

I've never done Mickey's BBQ but we did HDDR when my boys were around your boys ages. They loved it! Thought it was so fun and funny!

We are looking at these aswell. I've seen a small video of HDDR and to be honest, am not impressed. It just doesn't seem like something I would like. But then its so popular, I'm wondering if there is something I'm missing. I've read a few reviews about the Backyard BBQ and they have been fairly mixed, but it seems to be something we would like. I'm not sure where to go.

We thought the same about HDDR to be honest - wasn't sure if we would like the corny humor at all didn't seem like our thing - but we tried it in August (on our 10th trip) and loved it - would go back but think it may be too soon to return in May. I would be very interested in reviews for the Backyard BBQ though, especially from those with older kids.

BTW, I used to live in Melbourne (when I was very small) - in an area called Box Hill - do you know it?

I wasn't expecting to like it either. The humor may be a little corny but it's a very entertaining show.

They both are really good & fun. If you need to pick one then you would pick HDDR first.

We've done the HDDR twice and the BBQ once and regretted the BBQ.

The HDDR was fun and DS4 still asks to go back. He's still singing the song "Hoop Dee Doo":goodvibes

The BBQ was just a mess. It was crowded. The characters don't leave the dance floor. We could't get a table near the dance floor so one of us with one kid when to the dance floor while the others stayed at the table. Then we had to rotate to get the food. If someone didn't stay at the table, we'd lose it. It was just not fun for us. Maybe if you go with a large group it would be different.

We ate then left early. Not worth the 2 TS credits to us.

HDDR hands down is so much better and the food is surprisingly good.

(we didn't like the luau either!)

pigby - yes I know Box Hill. Its about 45minutes from where I live. Its funny, I see you are from Manchester. We have family in Little Lever which isn't that far from you. My Mum grew up in that area.

We actually live much nearer to Little Lever than we do to Manchester probably about 8 miles away- I know Little Lever pretty well - I know a couple of people who live there and I worked there for a short time. It's a small world after all.....
