I just can't decide. I'm trying to decide whether we should do this show or skip it.

First, the meal isn't that appetizing to me. And yet I know it's not all about the meal; the show is the primary draw.

Second, I think my kids will enjoy it; but I wonder if it's just too much stimulus? Maybe we'd just be better off that evening enjoying the pool and ordering pizza from room service?

Thoughts?

We LOVE the Hoop Dee Doo but we are a group of adults. We only do it once every 3 years. But we like the food as we feel it is one of the best meals on property. The show is great but if you won't eat I am not sure I would go since its pricey. It is Fried Chicken and ribs which is MARVELOUS! Maybe its something you skip for now and do it later.

DO! My kids love this, and they still talk about it. I am not a big fan of the menu either, but it was actually really good (I usually do not like any meat that still has a bone attached to it). It was a great time and we really had a nice family experience. We are going back again in Dec!

Hoop De Doo it!!! This is a must do for our family....my mom is not a huge meat eater but loves the show enough to do it everytime we go! My children love the show as well! If you never do it again....chalk it up to a Disney experience!! Good luck deciding!;)

I definitely say DO! We went for thefirst time last year and had an absolute blast...it's not something that I would do every trip, but I'd definitely recommend it! As for the food, it's nothing special, but it's certainly not bad!

Another vote for DO!! Our daughters were 6, 11, & 16 when we went for the 1st time last summer. I didn't have very high expectations but I was very pleasantly surprised. We loved it and the girls all said, before we even got back to POR that night, that they wanted to go back on our next trip. We thought the food was good. Give it a shot!

Clever thread title!! And it's a definite DO! Its a blast and I'm sure your kids will love it..

Do!Do!Do!
We have done it two or three times and will do it again on our next trip. We love the food and the entertainment is great. They get the whole family involved and I just sit there and laugh my head off.:rotfl: It is sooo much fun!!

Fun times at the HoopDee Doo! It's definitely the best dinner show at Disney!

I think older people get more out of it than the little ones. Its all about the side comments they say in the show that everyone laughed at. Dont get me wrong.. my kids enjoyed themselves with the food and singing and dancing.. but realy.. I would try a different dinner if its more for them. Save this one for the big peole or even for when they are older and they can get more out of it. I am glad we went as we are all about trying things that are new to us. We go every year and but havent gotten them all under our belts yet. Like the ordering in pizza night while swimming.. THAT sounds good to me right about now~

Definitely do it!! It has become a must-do for our family every trip. My two boys are 20 and 17 and they absolutely love the food and the show!!:thumbsup2

My 15 yr old LOVES HDDR. It is the one thing she HAS to do on the next trip. In fact, all my kids absolutely adore it. I have 5, 12, 13, and 15 yr old and they would just die if we didn't go. It's too much fun for them. I like it as well, but not as much as the kids. I did like the food. Great chicken and ribs. My favorite part of the meal however is.... straw.... strawberry..... strawberry short....... strawberry shortcake! Delicious!!

I have been struggling with the exact same dilemma! I have put several posts on these boards as well asking about it. We are going for our first trip in September and most likely won't be going back again for many years to come. The nights are 'precious' to me and we are staying next to Epcot, so I really wanted to spend alot of them there.

In the end, I have decided to go. Although there are some negative reveiws on this board, the overwhelming response is positive. I also read some reveiws on 'allears.net' where it got a whopping 9 out of 10 average rating (more than most any other place on the site).

Hope I won't be disppointed!

Do!

It's a lot of fun, and very relaxing. Not at all like walking around a park. If you get the early show, you will get back to your hotel in plenty of tme for a dip in the pool before bedtime.

My kids, age 7 and 8 love it! We've seen the show about 5 times over the years (4 with kids), and when we plan trips, it always comes up as a must do.

Here's another vote to do it! We like it so much we're having dinner there the night of our Disney Wedding with a group of 27!! Can't wait - the food is pretty good (much much better than Spirit of Aloha) and the show is great!
