What is the best mode of travel to get to Fort Wilderness? We will be at Magic Kingdom during the day and have a 5 p.m. reservation for the Hoop-dee-do. Thx.

from MK you can take the boat transport and that'll put you very very close to hoop dee doo. Once it's done- hope back on the boat to MK and tehn take your mode of transportation back to your resort

Great - thanks. I was not sure if we could take a boat from MK or we needed to go by bus.

Definately take the boat over to FW from the MK, but you may not have to go back there to get to your resort (if that's where you're going after the show).

When we went to the HDD in September, after the show there were busses for all resorts right at the bus stop waiting for us. WDW must realize that people need to "get home" and you shouldn't have to go back to a park to find a ride.

I don't see why they would have changed this since September, but if they have, someone please correct me.

Of course if you're going back to MK or if you're staying at a monorail resort take the boat. ;)

HDD is one of our favorites. Have a great time.

I believe this is offered for guests of the 9:15 show when MK closes early.

there is bus transportation to the resorts after every show.

At first when I responded, you had convinced me that I did do the 9:15 show, but on second thought, I realized I was with my DS3, we ate at the 7:00 show and I tried to change to the early show thinking it would be too late for my little guy (we did a "boys only" trip). We had the front table dead center so when I called to change to the early show, the CM talked me out of it saying I needed to keep my seats (I didn't know they were front row till we got there. Table 13 I believe it was).

So I'm going back to busses after the show (at least the 7pm show).

This is the fastest way. The bus would drop you off in the entrance to Fort Wilderness and you would have to catch another bus back to the Hoop Dee Doo.

BTW the Hoop Dee Doo is a great show.

From the MK the boat is the only choice, there is no bus from MK to FW(except in VERY rare instance when the boats are not able to load ECVs/wheelchairs)

From all other parks the bus will drop you at Outpost and you will need to take ANY FW internal bus to Settlement, there are ususally signs at Outpost directing guests to the proper bus to get to HDDR.

After the 2 latest shows Disney provides bus back to resorts without the need to transfer at a park, but one bus will serve several resorts.
