I am planning on making ressie for Hoop Dee Doo in August but want to time it so we can go to Mk for fireworks after. Which seating at HDD would be better: 5 or 7? Planned on taking boat to Mk from HDD....

go for the 5, so you dont have to rush or be frazzled if you just miss the boat.

If I recall correctly-there are no Disney Characters
to interact with. Hoop-de-doo is a cute Wild West
Saloon Type Show (cowboys and cowgirls etc) singing
and dancing on stage, corny jokes, and they get some audience
members involved on stage.

Are you thinking of Disney characters? Maybe you
are looking for Mickey's Backyard BBQ?

Is that true? there are no characters at Hoop-De-Doo? AGGGGGH! I just booked today for our first night for something fun before we go to the parks. Why is it such a big deal that people book 2 yrs in advance?? I guess I have to find something better to keep the girls happy! Thanks for telling me!

Hoop De Doo is a GREAT show! Even w/o characters.

I'm sure it's a fun show, but it's going to be our first night and first time for the kids so I wanted to make it special by taking them to see the characters the first night. I'm guessing that most of the jokes would be puns that would go over their heads. I guess we will wait until they are older to give it a try. I'm so glad I found these boards and that everyone is so nice and so helpful!

Our whole family (ages 15 mo. to 52 years) loves the Hoop Dee Doo. If you don't think yours will, though, you might want to check out Chef Mickey's for your first-night dinner. It's become a tradition for us . . . dinner with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip and Dale, followed by a monorail ride around "the world." There's nothing quite like it for making you feel like you're really at Disney World -- especially when you have children in your group.

There were no characters at Hoop Dee Doo anywahere but it was neat to walk around Ft Wilderness before and afterwards.

Therre is a petting zoo with goats etc... and there is the lake and docks and a general store...

After Hoop Dee Doo there were carriages lined up to rent for a carriage ride.

The show was fun and the food was good and PLENTIFUL. We combined the show with a stop at Wilderness Lodge Hotel to see the lobby and grounds...

By all means....don't cancel because there are no characters!!! Hoop Dee Doo is a western/vaudeville type show for the entire family. Our 4 year old loved it and can't wait to go back. You will not regret going - trust me!!! There is singing, dancing, comedy plus dinner. Do a search here on the boards and you will see how highly recommended this show is.

Absolutely agree-that's why PS two years in advance.
You get to sing alone and play the washboard etc.

Lots of food.
