I am thinking of doing this dinner show. The meal looks ok, nothing special, but decent. I am wondering about the show itself. It looks to me like the Saloon show they have at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Mo. Has anyone been to both and could compare the two? If it is basically the same, we will probably skip it. I like that show, but I don't think it's worth 2 DP credits. Thanks!

well, I do not have all the info you are looking for, as I have never been to Branson. (have a friend who goes eery year!)

but comparing Hoop De doo Revue to othe 2 TS credit restaurants at Disney, I love it!

I admit, I have only gone using the DDp, which is 2 TS credits.
you get all you can eat chicken, ribs, beans salad, corn, etc, plus dessert, plus beer an wine plus tip, plus a show!

we love it!

I do not have a personal experience to relate to you.

I have been to WDW many times and eaten almost everywhere but here.

Based on what people I trust say, I am missing out.

You should give it a go!

1) Been to Branson.
2) The HDDR theater looks like about 14,729 other Western theaters.
3) Give or take a few.
4) But,
. . . the show is fun
. . . the food is well above average
5) Always worth doing at least once.

I have been to both the Silver Dollar City saloon show and the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. We go to Silver Dollar City every other year and Disney every year. I will explain my experience/attitude on both. We usually always see the SDC saloon show with my parents because they love it--my take on it is that after seeing it once I did not have to see it again. I do love to see the Opera House Dickens show, the talking Christmas tree show, the Christmas train ride, etc every time--it is just the Saloon show that I can take or leave after I'd seen it once. We have done many Disney restaurants and have our "favorites". HDDR is not a favorite, but we were glad we did it once. The one time we went to Hoop Dee Doo (I think in 2008) my little girl and I both remarked that the show reminded us of the SDC saloon show. Same kind of corny. The difference was the HDDR experience lasted longer, was generally a bit better entertainment-wise, and we liked the food. As I stated earlier, we were glad we did it once. Probably won't do it again soon unless we take some relatives who have not been--HDDR is something my Branson-loving mom and dad would love.

I hope that helps.

HDDR is one of our favorites at Disney...in fact it's a must-do each trip!! The kids ALWAYS request this show. And for us, the food was really good. Like some of the PPs said, you should at least try it once. Fort Wilderness is also a great place to visit. Our kids love going over there, playing on the playground, petting the animals and just walking around.

Happy Planning!
