tell me about hoop de doo... do you think my kids are too young to really enjoy it? I'm having a hard time using 2 credits on this when I think they may enjoy hollywood & vine or whispering canyon more... we've never done either... what do you think?

IMO I would not choose WCC for young children - it was a little too much interaction for my DD :goodvibes . If you want to go to HDD, I would go for it - it moves pretty fast and there's always new food coming out. They wouldn't get all the jokes, but I think they'd be entertained. If you're worried about the 2 credits, how about a character meal like CP or Chef Mickeys?

really? you think a 4 year old is too young for Whispering Canyon? I really appreciate you telling me that... I knew the baby wouldn't be into it, but I thought my daughter would enjoy it... she loved lunch with JoJo at Hollywood & Vine... getting up with the Playhouse Disney cast... I guess we need to ask what would recommend for the preschool set? We are doing Hollywood & Vine again, but thought we'd try Whispering Canyon. We are doing the princess lunch in Norway, but we are trying to limit character dinings. that's why we were thinking maybe Whispering Canyon or Hoop de Doo. I am SO CONFUSED. This is like a full time job LOL!

I'm so sorry for confusing you. Its just my opinion and it sounds like meals at WCC differ depending on the server. Sometimes their jokes get a little intense though I think most of them are careful with younger children. My DD got her feelings hurt, but maybe it was because she was 11 (I guess its easier to get embarressed when you're 11). The server was great and apologized to her as soon as he realized what happened. Maybe you should read some reviews about it and you may decide that your family will love it. I used to (somsetimes still do :rotfl: ) get so confused and was constantly changing ADRs based on opinions here. Every family is different and your family might love WCC. They do have the stick horse races and if your 4 yr old is the kind of child who will enjoy that, this restaurant will probably be fun for you. Ohana does similiar things (coconut races?). My kids have always loved Teppanyaki (but you would probably have to worry about the hot table surface). How about Coral Reef? Biergarten is also fun for kids - the band calls kids and parents up to do the chicken dance. Hope this doesn't confuse you more - your best bet is to just decide and let it go - hopefully I can follow my own advice :goodvibes .

I would have to disagree. Now, I have three boys and have also been to Disney with my two nieces. They have always enjoyed the horse races, the calling of "oh Hickory", and the request of ketchup. Now, that being said, I think BOTH of your children would get more out of Hoop De Doo. We are getting ready to take our 10, 2 & 1 DS next week and this is not their firs visit to the HDDR either. HDDR like the other poster stated, always has something going on, the food is quick and there is not a lot of "dull time".

Now, my preschool experiences that have been succesful have been

Hollywood & Vine
Chef Mickeys
Donalds Breakfastasaurus
CRT
Crystal Palace
Ohana's

The bottom line is you really have to consider your own children, their reaction to characters, and their patience at meal times. All of these seem to be big factors for us. Our middle son at 9 mo hated characters, even though he clinged to a pooh at night he screamed everytime Pooh visited our table at CP. Our youngest though, couldn't get enough of characters and I have photos of him trying to bite the nose (he was really trying to kiss) off of almost every character.

If you are using the DDP, and still want to go to WCC perhaps you should go at breakfast and pay OOP. The skillet is very inexpensive and this would allow you to experience another character adventure on the plan.

Anyway you go, Good Luck and Enjoy!:goodvibes
