Hoop De Doo Tier

Is there a significant difference between the Tier 1 and Tier 2 experience at Hoop De Doo for a family of 5?

I've been to HDDR many times (probably too many as the show hasn't changed in 17 years ) and have been sat everywhere from right beside the stage to the very last table on the floor downstairs to upstairs against the railing (which is what tier 3 is). It's a great time everywhere (although you do feel more in the action downstairs). The performers do come upstairs and walk around some. I would rather be upstairs then in the very back again. We had a lot of people in front of us videotaping the entire show holding their cameras up so the lit up LCD screens were pretty distracting.

Oops, I just saw that you said Tier 1 and 2 not 2 and 3 . Hmmm...I don't think "experience wise" it's any different as the performers work their way ALL over the downstairs (when they're not on stage) but the only (minor) complaint I had, like I said, was the LCD screens from people's videocameras (which I only noticed at the very back).

Tier 1 your in the middle and tier 2 you are off to the sides. I guess it depends on if your preference. It's a good, better, best, 3,2,1, thing.

1) I recommend Cat-1.
2) I would not sit anywhere else at HDDR.
3) Several Cat-2 and Cat-3 seats may have posts in the way.
4) Most Cat-3 seats required you to turn around or crank your neck to see.
5) Sure, the singers visit all the tables.
6) But, they hit Cat-1 tables more than Cat-2.
7) And, significantly more than Cat-3.

NOTE: Whether on Broadway or at HDDR, Cat-1 seats are always the best. If not, why do they charge more for them? Almost self-explanatory just by looking at the price differences in category seating.

I think on the dining plan you are guaranteed tier 2 or 3. Correct me if I am worng please.

At the 9:30 show you can get Cat 1. We sat at the table against the stage in Dec with ddp.

Food there is good. We went at the last showing and believe me it starts not 1 second earlier LAWD

We love HDDR and have sat all over the hall. I don't think it really matters so if money is a concern go for 2 or 3 and enjoy!!!! We have sat at the raised table just inside the entrance three times and have had the same waitress each time. We love her, she is great and has a wonderful personality. I think her name is Sharon.

We sat in category 2 on the DDP last time we went and did not enjoy the experience as much as when we sat in the front (before the category seating was in place). We did not so much enjoy straining to see over all the people in front of us. Of course, this is just one family's opinion.

We are not doing the DDP this trip but we agree that we would pay OOP for cat 1 if we had to. Personally, we'd save the extra credits for nice lunches or signature dining.

I'm thinking about canceling my tier 3 reservation. I think it's pretty rotten that the 7:15 show only allows Cat 2 and 3 if you are charging it to the dining plan! It does not make sense to me. OOP, the price difference between Cat 1 and Cat 2 is less than $10! Anyone willing to use 2 of their dining credits for this event should be allowed to get choice seating on a first come first serve basis. Two TS credits at a Signature restaurant covers a $70 or $80 meal!

We agree! That's why we prefer to pay OOP for the shows and use the extra credit for signature dining!

If it's any consolation, Cat 3 might be better than Cat 2. I believe it's on the balcony, and all balcony tables are front row. I'd rather be seated in the front row on the balcony than in the back of the flat floor. JMO.

I have been to the HDDR 3 times, twice at least 10 years ago, when if I recall, the tickets and seating was on a first come basis once we sat in the back center and once on the left side in the middle, last March we went and bought tier 1 seating and were right up front near the stage and I enjoyed it the best of all the times we went, I would go for tier 1 if I were to go again

We went last August for the first time and we had Cat3 seating. We LOVED the view from the balcony. We were all the way near the side of the stage. I got to throw the hat to the big guy a few times so he could try to catch it on his head.
We are going again in June and will try Cat2 this time... but I thought Cat3 was just fine!
