They changed it up a bit where you pay for levels now, there are three categories. Within those categories, i was told it was random seating. I made my last hdd ressies on the first morning available, I was told that I was one of the first to make ressies. Yet we were seated at one of the very back tables. I wonder if it has to do with check in time? Just not sure.
You can pick up your tickets at guest services the day you arrive at your resort. Your seats will all ready be assigned. We did this in January.

Were you in Category 1 or 2? I was just looking at the seating charts and Category 2 is tha last row of the main floor or the area facing the stage on the second floor. All other tables on the main floor are Category 1.
Also, how was the view from your table? We would be using the dining plan, so I think we can only choose from Category 2 and 3.
will the reservationist tell us from now what seat # we are in for August?
That explains why you were in the last row. If you made your ressies as soon as you could, category 2's best seating would be considered the last row on the main floor. Personally, I would rather be upstairs at the back if category 2, especially if the 5pm show as I noticed that there are a lot of kids at this show and the noise level is more noticeable at the back of the main floor than upstairs. I don't care for level 3 as much either, mainly because all the chairs face the wall, not main floor so you have to turn around all the time to watch the show. As you probably guessed by now, I have been teo HDDR many, many times! We had cat 2 and sat in the last row on the main floor and thought it was great especially when DS had to go to the restroom which is not in that building. Kids liked it so much they requested to go again this trip. Crossing my fingers we get the same seats
I would think cat. 3 for sure because the tables are all in a single row along the railing.I was also wondering whether Cat 2 or 3 could seat more than 6 together. I am not thinking this is the case. I booked Cat 1 because we have 7 (1 is in a high chair) and for Cat 2 & 3 it said we were not guaranteed to sit at the same table, but that notice was not on Cat 1.
