Hi again- we are trying to organise what dinner show we are beset to do with a 5 year old boy and cannot decide between Mickey's Backyard BBQ and Hopp de doo - which out of the 2 would you recommend??

Also, does anyone know how long it takes to travel to these shows from either the Beach Club or Contemporary?

Thanks!!

I haven't done the Mickey's BBQ, but the HDDR is AWESOME. I can't wait to take my boys there. A lot of corny jokes that a 5yo would get and playing the washboard and having your food delivered in pails would be something that I know my almost-5yo would get a kick out of :)

I was facing the same decision last year, my kids were 6, 5 and 2. We picked HDDR - and they hated it. DD6 did not mind the dancing, but the boys were wanting to leave as soon as they had eaten. Playing the washboard at the end was the only thing they liked.

Can't help with the travelling time as we drove, then caught the bus.

I'm not sure when you are going but there are a few threads on the main boards which say HDDR is closing for refurb from August till December..

Haven't done HDDR but loved MBYBBQ. We did this on our 2009 trip and have just booked it again for this year. My girls 5 and 7 last time loved being able to get up and dance as well as the unlimited Mickey Bars. We were also lucky enough to be at the front of the line and they were both chosen to declare the BBQ open. They got a special certificate for that and we were escorted to a table before anyone else was allowed in.
