Hoop De Doo questions

The 5pm show... do they start seating at 5pm or is everyone pretty much in by 5pm. I have it scheduled for arrival day but the flights are not what I had hoped. We get in to BLT at 220pm.

I believe they start seating at 5 PM, but the process is amazingly quick. Everyone is seated within about 5 minutes and food is served pretty much right away. I have read that if you are late, they will not seat you.

How do you know you will arrive at BLT at 220? Are you flying and taking ME?
I don't think I would schedule a 5 PM HDDR on arrival day. Way too many things out of your control can cause delays.

When we went they opened the doors a little before the stated time. Everyone got seated and the food was served, then they started the show pretty much after we had eatten. Can't really give you any exact times, but it was only a few minutes before the stated time that they opened the doors.

I agree with Hopefully. I wouldn't book anything with a cancellation policy, where you will be charged if you are unable to make it, that close to your arrival. It is a lot of extra added stress that you don't need at the start of a vacation.

I agree about booking a later show for HDDR if you are planning to go on your arrival day.
Me can take up to 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get from MCO to your resort as CR/BLT I believe are the last stop coming from the airport.

1) Hoop-Dee-Do starts seating at the stated time (eg, 5:00, 7:15)
2) Everyone is seated within about 15-minutes.
3) Food and performers start per the plan . . .
. . . the food comes out when a table is full, regardless of time
. . . performers start with 15-minutes after stated time
. . . the performers then stop for eating time
. . . they start up again before eating is completed
4) They stop entry about 20-minutes after stated time.

You'll need to check-in and then they will want to try to take your photo so they can sell it to you inside.

At 5:00 pm they will promptly ring the dinner bell and open the doors. You have an assigned table and they start with salad and drink orders. So, basically if you are there by 5:10 you'll be able to be seated before the show starts. Much better if you are there on time, but stragglers are still being seated at 5:10 (based on my experience having attended 3 shows).

We arrived a MCO at 3:30 pm, got a rental car, made a 30 minute grocery stop, checked in at Pop, 30 minutes in room, MK bus, ferry to FW - arrived at FW by 6:30 pm in plenty of time for the 7:15 show.

Are getting into MCO at 2:20 PM or do you think you will be at BLT at 2:20 PM?

Thats an awful precise time.

If your plane is scheduled to land at 2:20 thats not a lot of time to get checked in at BLT and get to HDDR by 5:00 PM. Even if you are on time.

I was in error, flight arrives at 2:20. We always get off a the first bus stop for the Poly though and just take the monorail around to the Contemporary(trick we learned a long time ago ). So I was thinking even if it took 2 full hours, we would still be at the Contemporary by 430pm... don't really need to check in till after HDD... could make it for 5pm. We skipped the photo last time, I just told them we were not buying it, so didn't want to takeit. DD has reflux so not sure ifI can switch to the 7pm show or not ?? I think I may just switch meals and do it on another day. Thanks everyone.

You are basing your timing on EVERYTHING working out PERFECTLY, which doesn't always happen. If you land at 2:20, by the time you taxi, get off the plane and get down to ME, your looking at another 20-30 minutes, you could wait for a bit to get your bus, the time it takes to get from the bus->Poly->monorail->BLT->Ft.W, well it could be a while. And if by some chance your flight is delayed... Needless to say it's not a chance I would personally take. I would plan HDDR for another night and plan a restaurant that won't bother you as much if you can't make it on time or that you can at least make an ADR for 6 or so to give you a little extra buffer. Better safe than sorry.

Im in the same boat. i booked my flights where id be arriving at orlando at 1230 and had a reservation for hoop de doo at 5. Well United called me and said some flights were changed due to their merger and now i wont be arriving until 140. I have to pick up a rental at the Dolphin and check in at the hotel- so ive decided DH and I will take a taxi not Magical Express from the airport- ill get dropped off at Dolphin and get the rental and my husband will go further in the taxi to our hotel and check in. then i will pick him up and we will speed race it to hoop de doo. im hoping *fingers crossed* it all works out!!

We ate there last week, and everyone was seated within 5-10 minutes. As soon as we sat down, we were asked for our beverage choice and immediately served our salad. Great show as usual!

Actually, I was there on May 4th and didn't like the show as well as previous times. The show was the same, but all of the performers were different except for one. Not sure if it was just their night off or what ... but did not care for the performers as much on May 4th.

Still worth going to ... this was my 4th time.

The dinner bell is rung at 5 or maybe slightly before (only rare occasions, but we've seen it) and then servers come out to pick you up. When you check in, they tell you what door to stand by so your server can get you and seat you at your table. This also eliminates EVERYONE waiting by the main doors. Show starts when the majority of guests are seated (minus a few late stragglers). I'd say around 5:15 or there abouts.

We were at the 7:15 show on May 7th and had an awesome time as always (3rd time seeing it). I was the lucky guy Miss Claire recognized at the beginning of the show this time.
