Some questions about Hoop De Doo Revue:

• I've seen the seating chart. I'm guessing the tables vary in size --- would they seat you with an unknown party (not that I'm against meeting strangers! ;) ) We were thinking of getting Cat 2 or Cat 3 seating but since I've seen the chart we'll go for Cat 1 (plus my dad is mobility impaired, and I don't want to take a chance stairs will be involved).

• Would it be too much to see HDDR after a day at Animal Kingdom? I know the park closes earliest, and was thinking about the 7:30 HDDR show same day. We probably wouldn't arrive at rope drop so it wouldn't be a full day. How long is the HDDR show?

• We are staying off-site and will have a car. How much time should we allow for loading up the car at the park with strollers and scooter, driving over to HDDR, parking, unpacking the car, and getting seated? How far and/or convoluted is the drive from Animal Kingdom to HDDR?

• Is there a pre-show?

• AAA discounts available?

• How's the handicapped parking situation? How far from the building?

Dis Rocks!! :hippie:

We love the HDD and highly recommend it! I think I can answer some of your questions.

1. We've never been seated with another group (party of 3) so I don't think that they do it, but I'm not completely sure. I def don't think it's common.

2. If you can do a full day in the parks with a normal closing around 9/10, then you can def do HDD. Do you have kids with you? They might be a bit tired if you don't have an afternoon rest (but you know ur kids best). The show is a little less than 2 hrs long, but it's really lively and upbeat so it will keep you awake.

3. I've never driven to Fort Wilderness, but the bus system there is pretty confusing; I imagine driving would be as well. Someone might be able to give you more specifics; I'm not sure if you can park by the HDD location or if you would need to park at a main location and then take the shuttle bus. We usually allow at least 90 minutes to get over there from another resort.

4. There is no pre-show. Everyone lines up outside; you check in with a person handling the reservations (usually right outside the entrance) and then you get your picture taken. Then get in line for the show. There are also some nice rocking chairs in the area which are fun to relax in and I think there's a lounge area for drinks as well.

5. I'm pretty sure there isn't; also most of the discounts that do exist are only for the 9:30 show anyway, which is pretty inconvenient.

Hope that helps! Enjoy the Hoop-Dee-Doo!!!

You will not be seated with strangers, but in Cat e the tab les are pretty much in a row and kind of cozy. There aren't discounts as far as I know except for Tables in Wonderland. The salad and bread will be delivered at the start of the show and drink orders taken quickly. Most of the food will come during a break in the show, but the musicians continue to play. Dessert is served as part of the show. Lots of footstomping, washboard playing, and laughing to keep the kids going. I've seen very cranky kids before the show, but once the show starts, it's all smiles and giggles.

1) Seated only with your party.
2) Show is approx 1¼ hours.
3) You park at the main lot and take the bus.
4) No pre-show.
5) No AAA discount for the two early shows.
6) The main lot has a few handicap slots, and no parking near the show.

We saw HDD the day we went to Animal Kingdom and it worked out great. We had a big breakfast that morning and snacked for lunch and went to the 5pm show. It was a blast!! The strawberry shortcake is amazing :cloud9:.

Thanks all! Would boat transportation be any better than parking at the Ft Wilderness entrance and taking the internal buses? My dad won't need to use his scooter, but he really really isn't able to walk distances or do steps comfortably. Just trying to think of the least stressful way to get there. How long timewise is the bus ride to HDDR from the front of Fort Wilderness?

I'm not sure about the transportation but I just wanted to remind you that only Cat 1 seats are wheelchair accessible. Cat 3 seats are on the balcony and not sure about cat 2 seats but that's what it says on all ears.

As for HDDR after AK, GO FOR IT. We did that last trip, and will again this trip. My kids were 3 and 5 when we went, and they were fine after a full day, a full day that started early with Boma's for breakfast before the park opened!

@Skylarr29: Thanks, we were considering Cat2 until I saw photos of the theater and it wasn't anything like I expected. Our only option is Cat1 since my dad really can't do more than a couple steps.

@a*lil*bit*goofy: My niece will be 4+, I think she can do it. Besides, she'll sleep more than we will during the day! And who knows, we may have time to return to the resort for a rest before the show. I just love AK, and she loves the zoo and goes often, so I don't think we'll rush through the park. It may be my 2nd fave park ... will confirm that after our trip in Nov.

Peace! :hippie:

Picture?? Is this a picture that I would use for my photo pass. I ordered a photo cd so I am trying to get all the pics I can on there.

I know if you purchase the photos say at Ohana's and Mickey's BBQ you can get them added to the photopass but that's the only way.

We took the boat from the MK and then just walked over to Pioneer Hall. It was a pretty quick walk and we didn't have to deal with the buses at all.
