My 18 year old wants to go to Hoop De Doo. We went a long time ago and had a good time....but it's about $200 for the 4 of us, with the Tables in Wonderland discount. Plus the discount can only be used at the 8:30 show, which is a bit late for my 4 year old.

So for the cost (about $200 for 4 of us - mom, 2 teens and a 4 yr old) does anyone have any suggestions on something else that would equally or more fun?

IMO HDDR is the best dinner show thing on property - the other ones don't hold a candle. That said maybe you could all go to dinner at trail's end for the same food and spend the savings on a dessert party somewhere? IMO i'd do HDDR though. I just feel like there is nothing that really compares :) IMO it is one of the uniquely disney things.

I don't think there is anything equally, let alone more, fun than HDDR. It is classic Disney. It has been running for 40 years and counting.
Good Luck with your decisions.

I'll dissent. I would not bring my 4 year old to an 8:30pm show. They would be too tired to enjoy it, and they would not eat very much. They also would not remember it well. Unless it was a once in a lifetime trip, I'd wait a few years.

Since your one is 18, would you consider sending him and your other teen by themselves?
I'm sure you don't want to miss out on the fun, but this would be a way for your teens to experience the show while reducing cost and not having to worry about your 4 year old at a late show. You and your 4 year old could go enjoy a separate dinner at an earlier hour just for two.

We think HDD is getting to expensive as well for the quality of food you get. Our next trip, We are having dinner at Artist Point in Wilderness Lodge and taking the boat to Pioneer Hall after for the fireworks wagon ride.

1) Nope.
2) For any "under-21" folks, HDDR is the choice for fun.
3) For "over-21", do Jellyrolls for fun.

thanks all! I appreciate everyone's opinions.

I thought of sending the teens. The 16 yr old would probably love it, but he's not too interested in going. He was too young to remember. He doesn't want to go alone with his sister :) My only other concern is getting there and back - or them getting there and back.

We are doing a split stay - AKL, POFQ and BWI. Is there a better resort to plan this from? I assume bus to and from MK will be best plan and then bus back to resorts.
