Hoop-de-Doo or Whispering Canyon?

I'm debating between these two and can't decide. We're on the dining plan, so HDD will take 2 of our TS credits, but if it's worth it, then that's fine.

Whispering Canyon seems like fun too, but can be hit-or miss depending on your server, from what I've read.

Food between the skillet at WC and at HDD seems kinda similar.

Soooo.....my question is - which would you pick?

Interested in knowing also. We have ADR's made for both, but I was questioning if we should go to WCC or not.

We are going to Whispering Canyon on our spring break trip and again in the summer because we have heard such great things about it. This spring it will be on the dining plan. For the summer, we're only doing the dining plan for the first half of the trip since it's a spilt stay, and we're just paying for our meals as we go the 2nd half ... we included Hoop De Doo in there and it's now on a credit card. We've never gone to Hoop De Doo and heard it's a great show and decent food!
:cool1:

It depends on what you want. Do you want a "show" or an entertaining dinner? Do you want to commit to 2 hours or just eat and be finished?

We enjoy both. To us, HDD is a "night out;" WC is dinner and we'd probably look to do something afterwards.

As for food, WC is much better. HDD is not bad, but more basic.

To us, entertainment is entertainment, whether it's improvised like at WCC or performed like at HDD, so that's not a thing. Nor is the time spent there.

I guess I'm looking at which one people had more fun at.

HDDR is totally worth 2 credits! However, I dont think I'd choose between the two places. Theya re both must do's for us!

At WC you have more chance to be "part" of the entertainment and a lot depends on your server. At HDD there is a chance you could be part of the show. DH had one of the singers sit on his lap and sing to him - my DS (3 at the time) was horrified. :rotfl:

Any chance you could do both?

Whispering Canyon is a fun meal; the Hoop-Dee-Doo-Revue is an event. Depending upon how old you are, whether there's kids with you, if you plan on drinking alcohol, how much time you've got, your mode of transportation and what you're doing the rest of the day; HDDR should be worth the extra credits. If you're interested in a similar dining experience, but want to see characters; consider Mickey's Backyard BBQ if it's available.

hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've done both and I would do HDDR.

WCC depends on your server. If you get a dud your experience could be different.

Also, we really enjoyed the food and wine at HDDR. The chicken was great as were the ribs!

We will definitely do HDDR again. WCC if we are at the lodge and hungry and they have space available we will go. We won't make special plans for it though.
