We have been to both and I would vote for HDDR for sure. It was one of those nights where I took a freeze frame in my mind. Our whole family was BELLY laughing, and I though "this is the best time ever". I agree with poster above who said that there is nothing like sharing a laugh with your kids. When/where do you ever laugh at the same stuff your kids laugh at?
Cirque was wonderful, but not as much FUN. The performers are amazing, but you can't see them on tv.
