Hoop De Doo & MK fireworks -- doable?

I'm still trying to work our a plan for the day we go to Hoop De Doo but there are other things I want to work into the day ....

We'll be in AK the day we have 7:15 HDDR reservations, but if we get to AK early in the morning we may not stay until 5pm closing. And I've read that you need to allow 60-90 minutes to travel to HDDR.

There is a MVMCP the same evening we are doing HDDR and the fireworks are scheduled for 9:30. This is a different fireworks show than non-MVMCP days, correct?

If we wanted to see these fireworks after HDDR would Poly beach be the best place to see from?

If so, is there direct transportation from Poly to Ft. Wilderness? Or would we have to take a boat through MK or TTC? If we have paid to park at AK that day (staying off-site) we can show our receipt at TTC entrance and park "free"? Is there enough time to exit HDDR and make it to Poly by 9:30?

Or should we just park at Ft. Wilderness and use their buses and forget the fireworks?

Sometimes I feel like I'm making this trip WAY too complicated!!!

I believe your best bet is to take the boat to MK. You can see the fireworks very clearly once you pass the Contemporary. And you are heading straight toward them. We did this in reverse 2 years ago with a 9:00 wishes and a 9:45 ADR at WCC.

So park at TTC? Is there a boat direct from TTC to Ft. Wilderness?

There is not a bus or boat from the TTC to Fort Wilderness. You can take a boat from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness. After the Hoop Dee Doo you can see the fireworks from Fort Wilderness Beach then take the boat back to the Magic Kingdom from there take the boat or monorail to the TTC.

I would suggest driving to HDDR from AK. There is no additional parking charge. Travel time to FW is about 20 min max. No matter if you drive, or take a bus you will have to take the FW internal bus to HDDR. That may take an additional 20 mins depending on wait time for bus.

Watching fireworks after HDDR... You could watch them from the FW beach which is a short walk from HDDR.

Otherwise, figure at least 90 min show at HDDR (now 8:45) take bus to FW parking lot, get in your car and drive to Poly, run to the beach just in time for the fireworks. It's a tight schedule.

From AK take the bus to Ft. Wilderness, then take the Yellow, Purple, or Orange Settlement bus to the other end of the campground. (If an Orange comes first, wait on a Yellow or Purple, the Orange bus takes FOREVER). It is a short walk from the Settlement Depot to Pioneer Hall.

After Hoop De Doo, then just walk to the Ft. Wilderness Beach and watch the fireworks from there, they pipe in the music. Hang around the beach till 9:45 pm and watch the Electrical Water Pageant. Then you can take a boat to Magic Kingdom, then catch transportation back to your resort from Magic Kingdom.

(Hint, if the Magic Kingdom boat line is very long, try taking the smaller boat to the Contemporary, then walk over to the Magic Kingdom, you'll probably get there faster.)

Don't forget that boat will also share with the Wilderness Lodge and it operates until 11:30 PM.
