Hoop De Doo - is it worth it?

Obithar, I noticed that you folks don't drink (we don't either), so the bottomless beer probably isn't a drawing card for you. But, given the age of your kids and the fact that y'all have never been - I'd put HDDR on the agenda.

Nope on the bottomless beer. But some of the women in the show were pretty cute... There is a bar in fort wilderness that you can walk to before the show to tie one on.

ACTUALLIF YOU DRINK bUD LlIGHT IT IS ALL YOU WANT...ALSO WINE OR sANGRIA

It is a must do at least once! We sat in the front row the only time I have ever been. It is a cute show. Food was not bad at all.

Another recommendation here! We usually do it every year. This year, we couldn't spare the 2 dining credits....but I wish we could do it again!

It's an absolute blast.

I have been twice. Once with my mom and once with DS,DDIL, DGS and DGD. The show is fun. The food is just okay. Ribs, chicken, mashed potatoes (best of the choices), corn bread, beans and strawberry shortcake for dessert. The first time I had to spend some time outside with DGD. She was only 18 mos so too young because when she was done eating (after a very short time) she was done. DGS absolutely loved the show and really got into the participation part. My mom and I had a two person table, front row center. It was a treat for her, from me, for her b-day. She loved the show and she thought the food was great. One of the performers chose my mom as his focal point and referred to her throughout the show. That night is very memorable to me. My mom laughed so much she had tears streaming down her face. I would love to do it again. Your children are old enough to appreciate the humor.

We went last year and had the BEST time. My "boys" (hubby, DS, 10 and DS 5) were a bit skeptical when I told them about it but we all loved it from start to finish and in fact the boys still talk about the show and remember some of the songs. It's great family entertainment and in our opinion, the food was great! The cornbread, chicken, ribs, salad, potatoes, short cake... mmmmm....my mouth is watering just thinking about it!! :rotfl2:

And yes, beer (certain types) and wine are included and it was nice to enjoy a couple of glasses with our meal and not worry about driving :upsidedow (thanks Disney!!) I would definitely recommend going...you gotta try it at least once!

I recommend it. My husband and I really enjoyed the show and my daughter (then 4) LOVED it when we went last year. Watching her enjoy it as much as she did was worth the cost alone. I liked the food at this show best of everything we tried at Disney, but that being said I thought the food was just OK. Generally, I think the table service meals at Disney are terrible - like TGIF fare that's been under a heat lamp for 3 hours. If you go, it should be for the show, not the food. If you're really not sure, check out the postings of the show on YouTube, although seeing the show live is much better than the video.

We went about 20 years ago, and would have recommended it as a must see show--however, we just went with parents in December, and I was kind of disappointed. Maybe if you didn't have anything to compare it to it would be okay, but the show just felt TIRED.

I am glad to see the mostly positive reviews! We are going this June. Some of us have been (but not for 20 years), but my dcs and dh have never been. I hope they get picked...the performers won't know what they've gotten themsleves into if they pick dh ar ds, though....major hams!
