Hoop De Doo for ASD?

I was making our ADR's for December today and made a reservation for HDDR. Our triplets will be 6 then...and my one guy has trouble staying still, keeping in his seat, etc. What can we expect? Now this kid can't sit still for 20 min at school, but sat through a 2 hr production of High School Musical BECAUSE he loves music. Is this going to be good for him or am I wasting a ton of money? (if only his teachers could break into song and dance like HSM all day!!)

We do the dining plan and usually pick character meals because they keep the kids entertained...we have Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Princess Storybook, Ohana planned. Should we skip HDDR and do two others instead?

I was hesitant to try the HDDR, my DS (then 4) often would not sit through a cartoon movie at a theater. He loves the HDDR! There is a lot of singing, dancing, audience interaction, and twirling of napkins. However there are parts that are spoken with lots of silly jokes. Also they stop to allow you to eat at certain parts. My DS 9 w/ADD sits through it even when his medication has worn off and my DNphw 11 loves the show. Unfortunately ymmv. The only way to know is to go. The food is good, ribs,chicken,baked beans, cornbread, salad, strawberry shortcake. I pre-order hot dogs for the 11 & 5 yr old and usually a cake (strawberry allergies).

The only thing to be aware of in advance is the extremely loud "BANG" when they drop the kettle on your table and at the end when they have the washboard activity. If your children have no problem with unexpected sounds and/or loud sounds I think they'd love the HDDR. It's pretty fast paced. ---Kathy
