Personally, the food isn't all that compelling - ribs, fried chicken, beans, salad, corn, strawberry shortcake - but it's good, and if you're into bulk loading, you'll get your tummy full. Just don't expect haute cusine, and you'll do fine.

The show? Well, last time we went, I don't know if we were just tired and punchy, or whether the actors were that funny, but I swear, my jaws ached from grinning and laughing.

Have fun!

Thanks dreamfinder2, I read the menu and figured it would be perfect for the kids. I have been to Disney almost 10 times and have never done this. I just thought the kids would like it. Besides, with a 5 yearold and 2 4 year olds I thought it would be great.

The kids will love it! They're at that perfect age for corney jokes. We will be there in a few short days and it will be DS's (5) 4th time, and DD's(2) 3rd. We love it, and really get into the audience participation. We go during our anniversary week every August and get up to dance during the anniversary/honeymoon dance. DS gets a kick out of that, too. Enjoy!

We kick off our first night at Disney with the HDDR, it's a tradition.

We love it.

Have fun.

The show is perfect for your kids' ages too! It's always been one of my favorites since that age and corny jokes aside, what kide doesn't love a show that let's you use your spoons to play a washboard??? :D

This will be my fifth trip to WDW and I've never done HDDR before now. We'll be there next Sat. night at the 7:15 show. It looks like a real hoot. My picky dd, 10, will just have to make do with what she can get. She's not a fried/bbq chicken person. But, hey that's life. I think she'll love show tho. She's done several theatrical productions and she's looking forward to seeing this one in person. Think we'll like it much more than the Luau last year.

We always start our vacation by attending the HDDR first night. It's a great show with some great sinding and dancing and somw Hee Haw type joke and slapstick humor. The food is good not great great but good, though we love the fried chicken.I'm a Pioneer Hall Player by the way, I got picked to be Davey's angel in production once.Going to December 5th HDDR this year.Plus we love doing hayride after the show.::yes:: :wave2:

We went to HDDR for the 1st time on our arrival date in May and it was a great way to kick off the vacation. A CM told me on the phone that the tables are booked in the order the PS are made, BUT, we made a PS WAY out (more than 6 months out) - and then arrived late. We were there 5-10 minutes before the show started but not the recommended 30-45 minutes early - transportation was much slower than we expected that night. As a result, we were at the very back of Pioneer Hall by the door. This happened to another family sitting next to us who were very irritated because they'd been told their seats were close to the stage. I'm not complaining, because it was our fault we were late, but do yourself and the kids a favor and go early - I have to think your chances of getting a prime table are better.:Pinkbounc

My DDs (2 and 4) enjoyed the show but I think would have enjoyed it more if we'd been more a part of the "action!"

Have Fun!!!
