Hey all. I posted this in another area of the board, but it was recommended I try this section, too.

Next June, my then wife and I will be going on our honeymoon to WDW. Since the trip is only a month after our wedding, we are uncertain how we should book the trip. Her maiden name or married name? We both want her key card to have the married last name on it, but we're not sure if all the paper work will be done by then.:confused3

Anybody out there have any experience with this? Advice? Suggestions?
Thanks a lot!!

If the paperwork is not done, she will HAVE to book under her maiden name, because her name on her key card will need to match her DL or state issued ID.

We booked everything under my maiden name (which I kept) and DH's name (i.e. Joe Smith and Jane Jones). When they printed the key cards, they put my name with his name on the key card, even though my identification and credit cards did not match it (since I wasn't changing my name). I'm sure if the paperwork isn't completed by then, they will put the married name on her keycard if you request it.

When I called to book our trip I asked about this, because we leave just 2 days after our wedding and I wanted to be able to use my married name. They said they usually will just put the first names on the cards, like "Hillary and Andy", so it's not a problem either way. Just ask when you get there.

I don't have a middle name. It's a tradition for the girls in my family. This way when we get married, our maiden name becomes our middle name.

Before Wedding: Aaryn Maiden_Name
After Wedding: Aaryn Maiden_Name DF_Last_Name

I leave for WDW the day after my wedding so I will not have time to do the paperwork. I was thinking that maybe I could get my room card printed with all three names. Aaryn Maiden_Name DF_Last_Name. That way my DL will sort of match. Do you think this will be possible? Do you think if I have all three names on the room/ticket card, my DL which has not been updated will be a valid form of ID for them?

Depends on how fast you can get your ID/drivers license cards.

We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon, so since the passport had the maiden name, we had to stick with that.

Alright, we booked the honeymoon this past weekend! SOOOO EXCITED!!! 11 nights/10 days of Disney bliss.

We booked under the maiden name just to be safe. And the CM that helped us said that, if her name is changed by then, they can quickly take care of that.

So, thanks everyone for the advice!
