Monday November 1st : MGM and The meeting
Despite suffering from very sore feet from HHN the night before we had plans to go to MGM today. So up we got at 7:20am. Grabbed a quick snack from the hotel shop and headed onto the 8:20 shuttle to epcot. From there we caught the internal transportation to mgm and made it there about 5 minutes after park opening.
We immedietly headed for rockin roller coaster and tower of terror. We rode RnR twice in a row as the line was tiny and then did tower of terror. Im huge fans of both of these and Jessica also loves both but her clear favourite was tower of terror.
From here we decided wed do a few sit down shows to rest our feet. Crowds were light in the park so we headed over and caught the Indiana jones show. Which I love to pieces and Jessica was also impressed with. Its always fun to see how the stunts are achieved.
As we wandered out we noticed we were just in time for the muppet 3d show so we rushed in to find the preshow just finishing up. Talk about good timing. We both love this show. Always makes us laugh incredibly hard. From the penguins, chef, and old guys in the theatre to the crazy stuff on screen.
By now it was close to mid day and we headed over to tower of terror to meet up with JJPenguin AKA Aruna. We agreed a 20-30 minute leeway either side of mid day and just as its turning 12:20 someone walks up and smiles at me and says hi you must be Rhys and Jessica.
I almost didnt recognise her at first as she looks a lot younger in person than her picture, but straight away we get to chatting and get along famously. Then Aruna gave Jessica a dori pin badge as shed heard it was Jessica birthday on the 2nd. Very very kind of her but also not so kind to me as Jessica then launched into a whole series of dori-isms hehehe. Shes so like dori at times its eerie.
We then nabbed fast passes for tower of terror and nipped onto rocking roller coaster for a few rides before lunch(Aruna was kind enough to get us some PSs at sci fi diner). On this first ride of RnR with Aruna a great tradition began making stupid faces for the camera at the beginning of the ride. We rode it a ton of times during the day and every time did a different face. Boy did we laugh ourselves silly.
Then on to dinner. Mmmmm burger in sci fi diner. It was really nice food as always and a very nice moist flavourful burger. Aruna and Jessica got themselves glowing ice cubes(see just like dori. Attracted to sparkley things) and we then headed out to use our tower of terror fast passes. Then rode it a few more times for fun. Then we went into the muppets 3d again, rode the back lot tour, did star tours, and got our butts into fantasmic for the evening show.
Fantasmic is always a great show but I cant help feeling my time could be better spent on roller coasters lol.
One thing I should mention about star tours. In the store there after picking up a few gifts for a friend back home I noticed they had the genuine replica light sabres. $180. steep I know but fun as heck. As we walked past a guy was buying one so we watched him try it out. It lights up, makes noises when moved and all sorts of stuff. I was in LOVE. And all week I tried to convince Jessica to let me buy one(and myself a lil too as it was expensive) but she kept telling me what a big dork and nerd I was so it was a no go lol.
Then we joined the masses of people spilling out of the park. Seeing as all forms of transportation were mucho busy Aruna we advised we walk. Amazed that Disney had actually built places for people to walk we agreed and set off.
Stopped at broadwalk for a beer then making our way into epcot. And funnily enough stopping at the beer stand by England for a Boddingtons
We then made our way over to mission space which was so quiet we got to ride it twice in a row with zero wait time. It was an amazing ride too. The g-force etc was just surreal and the weightlessness was fun. One complaint though. When they do the hyper sleep bit is it really necessary to blow cold air in our eyes? It dried up Jessicas contacts and messed my right eye up making it blurry.
After riding that twice we wandered over to mexico to sit down, watch the fireworks and snag a bite to eat. Aruna and Jessica shared the BIGGEST dang plate of nachos I ever did see and I had a scrummy churro. Man I love those things.
After the fireworks finished we all made our way down to the transportation area. It seems for once I made a good impression as Aruna asked if wed like to meetup later in the week. Naturally we agreed and we decided Thursday at magic kingdom would be a good bet.
So we parted ways and we caught our shuttle back to the hotel. Where we collapsed and slept like logs.
