Hello All!

Long time, no posts! Don't worry, I've been lurking and listening!

As some of you may know, I recently got married! :goodvibes However, as I am a teacher in the UK, I can't take a long vacation until the summer. So we are planning our honeymoon from late July into August (17 days).

I just wanted to ask if there were any 'must do's' if you were to honeymoon at Disney? We have booked a few posh restaurants and the wishes dessert party, but I want to get other people's opinions too!

Any recommendations or suggestions? :confused3

Where are you staying? In my humble opinion, the most romantic Disney resorts are

DELUXE - Grand Floridian
MODERATE - Port Orleans mansion room
VALUE - All-Star Music Jazz building

I should point out that my now husband/then boyfriend and I once pitched a tent at Fort Wilderness and had a fabulous time!

Congratulations! We're in the same boat as you - husband is a teacher so we're honeymooning at the end of May. We're staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas and Boardwalk Inn Villas.

Our biggest priority was definitely dining! But other people do carriage rides (especially at Port Orleans). You can also take boat rides during the fireworks, or lay on the hammocks on the beach at the Polynesian to watch them (not sure if this is affected by the current construction). We usually like to find quiet spots in the parks to sit and have a drink or a snack, and for a honeymoon will take it much slower. There's also the new Epcot After Hour Winddown for $35 (drink flight and snacks til 11).

Also, you can pay to have additional experiences, like behind the scene tours or the Wild Africa Trek. These are generally adult only experiences and will add something special to your (already special!) honeymoon trip.

OR Disney floral can send things to your room. The package I saw that was specifically targeted towards honeymoons comes with bride and groom ears, chocolates, champagne flutes, sparkling cider, etc. We'll probably just purchase the Once Upon a Vine wines to bring back to the room on those nights we just want to stay in!

Sorry for the lengthy post. I've spent a lot of time Disney honeymoon planning recently and still have no idea (other than eating and drinking!) what we want to do.

If you are inclined toward it, do a couples massage (or a separate massage).

WDW in July/August is excruciatingly hot so having a day for a massage and to sit around and relax will help revive you. If you are there for 17 days, you may want to do two days, one each week.

And tell your Mum that Cathie and I said hello.
