My husband and I are planning our delayed honeymoon to WDW for August 2007. We got married August 12, 2006, but were unable to take a honeymoon due to work schedules. So this is a honeymoon/1st anniversary trip for us!

I have heard that sometimes couples on their honeymoons get special treatment at Disney (i.e. champagne at dinner or mickey glitter on the tablecloth). Has this happened to anyone while on their honeymoon? I would love to hear some fun stories of magical disney honeymoons!

We did the same thing..........got married Dec. 22, 2005 and finally had our honeymoon on our first anniversary (Dec. 23-30, 2006). We had it noted everywhere that it was our honeymoon, even had the pins, but got nothing. We did have a table for two front and center at Hoop Dee Doo and at the Luau, but they didn't even mention it being our honeymoon. To be honest, I wasn't really expecting anything so I wasn't disappointed, but it would have been nice to have gotten some extra pixie dust! Maybe you will!

I would suggest that as soon as you go in the a park, ask for a first anniversary or just married pin - that way everyone sees that its your honeymoon.

We did get a little pixie dust for our engagement, we got engaged at the castle on Wednesday, and I read somewhere while researching for my first trip that you can ask for special for Birthdays and such.. so i asked if they had just engaged and then said no but gave me a just married pin with cinderella and her prince. We wore those everywhere and got congratulations from all the cast members

one castmember gave Matt a blue fairy pin and said he had to wear it on his wedding day .... it was really cute

We also got special reservations for the Hollywood Brown Derby. My Fiance is a HUGE fan of star wars so I think we spent over an hour at the star wars store at star tours. he spent forever talking to a CM about this Star wars watch so once I came over she saw my pin and said congrats and I said oh I just got engaged and told her it was this week so she said I'll be right back and called the restaurant and made reservations for that night, I belive that's like impossible to do! Once we got there we were seating in the private room there and recieved a special mickey dessert.

There was other little things that happened but I guess That was my magic moment I guess!

This seems to be kind of a hit or miss type of thing, but we got quite a few perks that made our honeymoon really special. We wore the "just married" pins everyday(they also have anniversary pins...these are all free, and you can pick them up at any Guest Relations in every park). We were given free brownies at Casey's at the MK, free dessert and a table decorated with streamers and Mickey confetti at Tony's at the MK, repeat rides on Space Mountain with no wait, boats to ourselves on Splash Mountain, Chef Mickey's gave us cute placemats that we got to take with us, and also gave us a free dessert, free frozen lemonade from a stand at one of the parks...forget which one.
These "perks" weren't anything very expensive, but those little things made it so magical...if you honeymoon at the beach, nobody will know what you are celebrating..you are just another person. Many Disney cast members really go out of there way to make it great. The main thing is not to expect any extras, but they are nice when they come around! I hope you guys have a wonderful trip!!!!

I just love talking about our Disneymoon!! We had such a great time. It was absolutely magical! We went on our Disneymoon in July 2005. We were sporting our Bride and Groom ears pretty much the whole time!

Here are a few of the things that we got to enjoy on our Disneymoon:

-We were given a 'Just Married' balloon when we checked in at POP, that had a little Mickey balloon weight attached to it.
-Free preferred 60s section upgrade at POP
-Mousekeeping (I guess it was Mousekeeping) left us a bouquet of Disney Princess Suckers and a card, along with our towel zoo, on the table in the room.
-I can't even count the number of 'active' FASTPASSES that CMs just handed to us during the week - I guess they were giving us FASTPASSES that people had already turned in.
-Front of the Line passes for Test Track and Mission: Space, and a CM gave us a little card that had Test Track trivia and info on it. He said it was given out on the opening day of TT.
-Free ice cream (we actually had to start refusing the free ice cream at one point, because we were on the dining plan and needed to use our snack credits!)
-Priority seating tickets for Fantasmic! (Thanks to the manager at Mama Melrose's!-It was a really good area!), and also great seats at Tarzan Rocks, Indiana Jones (we also got to be 'extras' in the show!). CMs would just pull us down to the front and center seats!
-We also got the center window seat at Cinderella's Royal Table (wonderful view of Fantasyland!), and the table was sprinkled with Mickey confetti. Also at Cinderella's Royal Table, our waiter gave us a set of the Cinderella's Royal Table champagne glasses!!!
-Window seats at dinner at Chef Mickey's - with a wonderful view of the castle/Magic Kingdom! We were also given 'It's My Special Day' placemats. And the waitress sang 'Happy Wedding' to us. It was histerical! And Minnie acted sad that she didn't have a ring on her finger! But when we showed her the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom pen that we had just bought at a gift shop in the Contemporary, she started acting really excited. It was so funny!!
-We were given several 'Congratulations!' cards at different places we ate at during the week - Boma, Cinderella's, Chef Mickey's
-We got to ride up front on the monorail several times
-When we picked up our free Magical Wishes button at Downtown Disney (that another CM at Goofy's Candy Co. told us about), the CM there also let us listen to a special congratulations message from Mickey and Minnie!
-Lucky the Dinosaur stopped to talk to us! It was so cool! We're not sure if it was our ears, or just random. We got this on video - I still can not believe it! DH loves dinosaurs, and we had one stop and visit with us on our Disneymoon! :teeth:
-At several of the indoor theater attractions, the CM would come up to us and ask our names, then they would announce our marriage over the loud speakers! I know this happened at It's Tough to be a Bug, Muppets, Philharmagic, and a couple of others.
-We were given our own boat on Maelstrom, El Rio del Tiempo, Small World, and Pirates of the Caribbean-this was so romantic!
-Many of the characters in the parades would wave at us and give us the thumbs up or point to their ring fingers. The Fairy Godmother did this right when she was talking about true love. Plus many other characters would make a big deal out of our ears! It was so cute!
-TONS of guests and CMs told us 'Congratulations', and many guests would offer us their seats on the bus, or on the boats or whatnot.

Overall it was a totally magical experience. We really felt like VIPs the whole week. We wore our Bride and Groom ears the whole time. That was just something I had always wanted to do since I was in middle school and found out about the ears. Neither one of us expected to get all that extra attention! Of course, now DH wants to know if we can 'reuse' our ears. :teeth:

I hope you guys have a magical time, too! :wizard:

We had dinner at the castle on our wedding day, we had confetti of the castle and cindy's coach. Instead of the lithograph we were given champagne flutes (which we will use at our DFTW.) DH was embarrassed by the Fairy Godmother during the dinner. We were given what they call the lovers bench during Pirates, the backseat. Fastpasses for Test Track. Lots of congrats. But I think that was it.... Still thinking. Yup, that's all , oh wait. We were late for dinner at Crt, and our seasonal passes were blocked out. But the kind cm let us in anyways. I'm sure she could have gotten in trouble. but we did exactly what she said and upgraded our tix at city hall before we left mk. but that was all.

My fiance and I are celebrating our honeymoon at Disney. We will be there from August 7th-12th. Followed by a Disney Cruise. We are looking for some other couples who are celebrating their honeymoons at the same time. Always fun to make some new friends.

We did not wear mouse ears/groom hat BUT I did have the buttons -

we were married on property and did get an awesome upgraded room for the entire stay (approx 2wks) water view the room was huge!!!

We got free minosas at Yacht Club Galley along with the phone message from Mickey and Minnie

At Le Cellier we got the Mickey and Minnie Message and they gave us a certificate that said we celebrated our honeymoon at year of a million dreams

I would ask to sit in certain places on rides and always make sure my button was showing and they would let us-

Of course our flowers were stolen/lost from our tea party - these were very expensive silk flowers - which really put a damper on our honeymoon so:sad2: I was happy just being with my husband but it was too bad that ny flowers were not taken care of-

We got free champagne at the Brown Derby, a cute decorated table and free dessert at Tony's Town Square, tons of congratulations, VIP seating on a couple rides, and completely embarrassed at the Whispering Canyon (or whatever its called)

We just had the buttons, my dh wouldn't wear the hats :)
