Hi everyone! My fiancé and I are beginnging to plan our honeymoon to Aulani and I'm so excited but I'm also freaking out because I've never been there before. ANy tips for first timers specifically on their honeymoon. Big question is how many days should we stay?

Haven't see any answers yet, so let me jump in to bump. We haven't been yet (this summer though!!!!), but I think I can answer your "how long" question, because it's the same as for WDW..."it depends!"

There are about a million things to do just in Oahu, plus there are half a dozen other islands! However, there is a ton to do right at Aulani without ever leaving, like at all Disney resorts (and then some). So I would suggest starting with an Oahu guidebook and the Aulani website and deciding what you really want.

Also depending on how far you travel, you may want a longer stay to make the trip worth it versus if you can easily come back.

Hope this gets some thoughts rolling for you!!

DH and I honeymooned in Hawaii, including Aulani, this past September. My trip report is in my signature.

We stayed 16 days - spent 3 nights in Waikiki, 3 nights on Maui, 3 nights on Kauai, and 6 nights at Aulani. Might be too much for some but we were happy with it, and I wouldn't have changed it. We got a taste of the other two islands and now we have an idea of what we like and don't like. We loved Kauai but found it very humid and much less touristy/commercialized. Maui was a good balance of natural beauty and commercialization, but it was cooler and very windy. In September, we also found the ocean to be very rough and you really needed to be a strong swimmer. The exception to that, however, is at Aulani since they have the lagoon. That was perfect. We also found it to not be too crowded at Aulani - never had chair issues, etc.

We also honeymooned in Hawaii in September! I have a trip report as well. We also did 3 nights in Maui followed by 6 at Aulani. I honestly thought that 5 full days (even though we stayed 6 nights, our flight from Maui to Oahu was at night) was hardly enough! We really enjoyed Maui as well. Aulani is so beautiful and there is so much to do around the island. I found Aulani so relaxing that I didn't want to leave. I'd say a minimum of 4-5 nights, but if you're only going to Aulani, maybe a full week at the very least. By the time we got to Hawaii it was lunch time and we didn't get the most out of that day because we were pretty tired!
