Hello,
My fiance and I are getting married June 14th, 2008 and we will be going to Disney for our honeymoon and I was wondering when I should book our honeymoon? Also does anyone have any good tips for saving money? We are planning on staying at the Port Orleans Riverside resort.

well we are in the uk and I'm booking our honeymoonfor sept 08 at the end of this month.
We are hoping to get married in disney in sept 2008

that if you book early sometimes they upgrade you for free... I know it has happend to my family before! It has to be like close to a year early though.;)

i booked my honeymoon about ayear in advance, and I ahve been selling stuff on e bay to save money for my "disney fund"

Congratulations on your engagement. You will want to make your travel plans around 11 months prior to departure for June. You've made an excellent choice in the Port Orleans.

Ok perfect I think I will book in June/July then. I am so excited so I cannot wait to book. So far everything I have readt about Port Orleans has been wonderful I just can't wait to go lol.

You can book as long as they have 2008 rates. I tried booking a 2008 trip and they said I would have to call back like in July or August when 2008 rates will be available.

July or August? I called back in April and the woman I talked to said May or June the rates would be available! I've been waiting sooo patiently for the rates to be posted on their website this month, but to no alas! I have to wait a few more months... ahhh! I'm too excited to book my honeymoon, I don't think I can wait without bursting!! Has anyone ever stayed at Saratoga Springs? We wanted to stay in a one bedroom villa and was curious if it's as great as the pictures show ;)

Hello,

You'll love the Port Orleans Riverside - it is a beautiful resort, very romantic! :cloud9: One tip I have is make sure you mention it is your honeymoon when you book your room and when you book your dining reservations. For saving money, whenever I need to save money I try to cut back on eating out, I think about what that money could get me in disney and decide I don't really want to eat out all that much! Also, every little bit of extra cash we had, we'd go to the Disney Store and buy their "Disney Dollars" - which you can use like legal tender in disney world. Great way to save for WDW! We used nothing but disney dollars to pay for our hotel room and dining!

I will be honemooning in Oct. 2008 & I just spoke with Disney and they told me I can book a room only reservation now, but not a "package" I will have to change/all on my reservation at a later date. I haven't tried doing anything yet though. We're still unsure where we want to stay. I have always stayed at CBR & love it! But we were beginning to think of trying something new like PO or something. :confused3

I am also getting married on June 14th, 2008!!! But I'm not getting married in Disney (too expensive) but I will be in Disney for my honeymoon!!!! For 10 days I hope! I live in Connecticut and my fiance and I had our first trip to Disney in 2004 and just loved it and that is why we decided to go back for our Honeymoon. I am going to try to get the Boardwalk Inn with the Garden Suite!! It looks sooo nice.

So Congradulations on your wedding!

While I am posting about honeymoons, I did have one question. Just because you don't have a Disney Wedding, can you still have a Disney Honeymoon? Do you have to do something differently when you are booking your trip? I am just a little confused on how I make sure that Disney knows that we are on our honeymoon. Do we get special perks? Benefits? Thanks!

:cool1: :surfweb: :woohoo: :laundy:

That's awesome!! we also love disney lol since u are getting married the same day u will likely be there the same time as us lol. Yes u can have your honeymoon there without getting married there...we aren't getting married there either too expensive. I think the only way they know is if u tell them and I have heard u can get special pins from guest services not too many other perks. We're doing the honeymoon registry we really like that idea

Oh great, I will have to tell Disney when I finally get to book our honeymoon that we are going to be on our honeymoon. Thanks. Can I ask though, what is the honeymoon registry??
:laundy: :rotfl: :surfweb:

I called Disney yesterday to get next years rates, and they are up which is good... but like the other poster said, there are no packages, so now I don't know what to do.. to book or not to book?!?

Is it just the room rates or the rates for the tickets and rooms? that is what I am waiting for to book. Once you book you can sign up for the honeymoon registry and pick a bunch of things ppl can pay towards such has something towards your room, tickets, mouse money, dinners, etc. here is the link u can take a look at it. You have to have your trip booked to sign up though.

We are having a Disneymoon in April and you can book just your room only ressie now and you can always change it as soon as the dates come out. :) I love POFQ. We are staying at Coronado this time though.
