HI i have been lookin on this board for a while and it seems that everyone is very friendly and knowledgable so i hope i can get any info if possible. I am cruising with my wife to be for our honeymoon on the aug 14 wes carr. cruise on the magic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1 I am kind of a beer snob and was wondering what beers where on tap on ship and if they may have any bottles?

2. We were going to try and get a palo brunch during one of the two days at sea is this going to be difficult?

#. i beleive we will arrive at orlando airport @ 10:45 on the 14 is the disney buses easy to find?

4. Anything else that u would like to share about excursions would be great. We are thinking about doing the conch train in Key west, the dolphin excursion in gand cayman(i think), and the beach party at cozemel(i may have the locations backwards)

4. I am one that likes to drink, how is the service at the bars and do waiter/ess come to u while hagnin out of the decks.

5. any other info u are willing to share

thanks in advance for your input. I am so excited i can hardly wait

Larry,

Welcome to the DIS! You've come to the right place to get your questions answered.

Unfortunately, I am not a drinker so I will have to leave another expert for those.

Are your flight times set at this point? If not and if it's possible I would STRONGLY suggest flying in the night before your cruise. It will assure that if you have any delays in your flight/baggage lost/etc that your honeymoon will be off on the right foot. When you're spending this much money, another $75 or so to stay either at the airport in the Hyatt or at a hotel near the port would be soooo worth it!

The buses are very easy to find. However, again since it is your honeymoon it might be worth it to you to spend a little extra money and hire a town car. Then it will be just you and your new wife picked up in style and off to explore the ship together. You would also have the option of making a stop at a grocery store/liquor store near the port and then you could bring some of your favorites on board if you like.

You will find lots of information about the REAS (Romantic Escape at Sea) package around the DIS. I have not personally done it, but it sounds like a very special thing to do.

Included in the package is one dinner at Palo, a couple's massage, a champagne breakfast, a special gift basket, and one night turndown service.

There is an employee of Disney Cruise Line named, Debbie who will help you make all of these arrangements 30 days prior to your leaving.

She would gaurantee that you would get the Palo day/time you wanted.

There is an amazing spa on board and if you are getting married just prior to your honeymoon, you'll have all kinds of stress/tension that would be great to just let go of.

Although breakfasts are techinically included with your cruise. Room service will normally only deliver continental (cereal/danish) type items. This package includes hot food and champagne.

You will get to pick one night to have "turndown service". Where your room stewards will scatter rose petals around your room and do a couple other decorative type items.

Again, all of this could be a surprise for your wife and she'll just think you're extra special.

If you choose not to use this package, you'll still have a good chance at eating at Palo however the at sea days are more popular than the excursion days for people wanting to book them. Also, you will be arriving at the port probably no earlier than 1:00 p.m. but this should still give you time to make your reservations on board.

Congratulations!

Congratulations!

I totally agree on the REAS package. Surprise your wife, she'll love you even more for it.

As far as beer goes, DH loves his beer. I know they had Budweiser on tap but that's all I can remember because that's all he drank. He bought the beer mug - it was $10. Every time you got a refill, you got a 16 oz beer for the 12 oz price. He more than recouped his investment on that one, and he got a nice souvenier. They give you a clean mug every time, but you have to bring the mug along with you when you go to the bar.

I don't remember seeing any bottles on board. I am sure that for safety reasons, they don't want glass on deck. As a matter of fact, the fu fu drinks were served in glasses or cups too.

I do remember sometimes, especially during deck parties and at the adult pool, seeing people offering drinks. But most of the time we just went up to the bar.

We did not spend any time in the night clubs so I can't speak to those.

If you book the REAS, brunch is not included, but you can still book it at same time as REAS (ie, before you get on the ship!)

Congratulations!!! Have fun!!!:Pinkbounc

thank you for all your feed back, but is it too late to get the reas package since our cruise is already payed for and we leave the 14th. Also i would love too get ina day early but that is our wedding day, so hopefully no delaays.

Larry -

Here is a link to a great DCL fan site that shows what beer is available onboard:

http://www.dcltribute.com/faq/beerbrands.htm

If the link does not work go to

www dcltribute com / faq / beerbrands htm

Just put in the right dots and remove the spaces (sometimes these links are auto removed from the posts).

Hope this helps !!

Are you booking through a travel agent or through Disney Cruise Line directly?

Since Disney always wants your money, I wouldn't be at all surprised to discover that it isn't too late to add it, a simple phone call to either your agent or DCL will provide the answer you need. Of course the $299 fee to do so would be due immediately.

With the couples massage, it is I *think* a 35 minute massage or mini-facial I think as your choices (you can ask your agent or DCL for more specifics). I have also heard that if that husband is a bit "spa shy" that he can choose not to attend the spa and the wife can take two options . . . of course it would be fun to do together.

Have a wonderful wedding day as a kick off to an even more wonderful marriage!!

Larry - who said the REAS wasn't available? It seems like some of the CM's just don't know too much about this package. Try to talk to Debbie. If Debbie says it is not available - then its not. Debbie is the Goddess of the REAS program - and highly thought of on the DIS.

From a different post - this is a phone # you can try:

QUOTE>>>Also, I booked with AAA travel, but I called Debbie myself. It was just easier for me to talk to her since there was a chance that the day or time I wanted would not be available. I called the 407 number, which I unfortunately can't find at the moment, but you can call 1-800-939-2784 and ask for extention #67411.

I think there are others that can book these for you if Debbie is unavailable, but it seems that Debbie is the one you should talk to. She is really nice, and she will book the brunch and the high tea as a courtesy (not sure if others will do that for you).

I hope this helps you. <<<end of quote

(edited to add the phone number inof)

Congrats!

My wife and I sailed DCL for our Honemoon back in 2003. We did a 4 day and have since taked the 3 Day this year and have a 7 day booked for Jan 05.

Needless to say we loved DCL. Even being w/o little ones we still love it.

I wish you both the best and enjoy your cruise (maybe it will be a first of many on DCL).

Best Wishes

The bars are great and they have CM's walking around taking orders. If you find a particular bartender you like, take care of him early and he will make sure you are well taken care of for the duration of the cruise. They have Bud, Bud Light, Corona, etc... the usual. They do have a Beer Pub night that is kind of a sampling of different beers. Its listed in the Navigator. Go to Diversions I think they had a broader selection of beer than the pool bars.

I agree with the going down early, but since you can not do that... DCL has representatives everywhere pretty much looking for you. They will lead you right to the buses and if you put the yellow luggage tags on your bags you will not see them again until they arrive at your door. So don't worry about that.

In Key West there are two different types of tours, one is a trolley and the other is a train. I can't remember which, but one allows you to get on and off as you please the other does not. Just make sure you get the one that allows you to explore a little. Shirley can help out with that and send you info to help you plan your KW day.
