Honeymoon at the Polynesian

Hi all, We are staying at the Polynesian for our honeymoon in October 2008. I have been reading about these honeymoon buttons that you can wear during your stay. Where can we get these buttons? Also, if anyone has honeymooned at Disney, what are some of the special things that have happened during your stay? When we made our reservation, the CM was told it was our honeymoon. I am hoping for some magic!

Congratulations on your upcoming Wedding! How exciting. Staying at the Poly will be Magic in and of itself.
I believe that you can get the Honeymoon buttons at Guest Relations at all the Parks. Ask at check in, I don't know if they have them at the Front Desk.
If you are looking for something magical to celebrate your honeymoon, the safest thing is to plan it (and pay for it if necessary) yourself. There is no guarantee that there will be any "Disney Magic" just because the CRO CM noted it on your reservation.
With the buttons, you will certainly get lots of "Congratulations" from CM's. You may find a special cupcake or dessert in TS restaurants. But if your heart is set on something special, plan it now.
I am sure the folks here on the DIS have lots of ideas for you.

your best way to get magic is buy the bride and groom ears.. we got all kinds of neat magic that way... not huge things but things we thought were magical... tons of free desserts and getting to ride like a boat ride to ourselves etc etc etc... we also got a mickey bride and groom figurine in our resort room at CSR..

DH and I stayed at the Polynesian in July and we were celebrating our anniversary. I mentioned this in conversation to a CM out front at the valet desk and she immediately handed us 2 "Anniversary" pins. Then when we got to our room there were 2 Anniversary pins there. I'm sure they'll also have the Honeymoon pins as well.

If they don't automatically give them to you, I'd definitely ask at check-in.

We wore our pins during our trip and were surprised a couple of times with a special dessert. We also got a lot of "Happy Anniversary!" greetings from the CMs throughout the resort and the parks.

I do agree that if you want special things to happen, your best bet is to plan them yourself so you won't be disappointed. Wearing the pins is no guarantee that anything will happen, but it's a great surprise when it does.

P.S. When you make your restaurant ADRs, also mention it that time so it can be noted! Maybe something special will happen during some of the meals.
