My fiance and I are getting married June 8, 2012 and we will be heading to Disney World for our honeymoon. We havent been to Disney in over 10 years and I am not sure of any new fun things for honeymooners. Anyone have any suggestions on what we should do or places we should eat or check out?? We both turn into little kids when it comes to rides and attractions but also like the romantic side!!

Can't wait for my wedding!!!

Super Excited!!

Hi! We are getting married end of August, honeymooning in September. We also haven't been there for over 10 years, but we are soooo excited!

We have the DxDP and will be trying a bunch of signature restaurants (Jiko, California Grill, Bistro de Paris, Le Cellier, Brown Derby and Flying Fish Cafe)

We are also watching the MK fireworks one evening from the beach at the Poly after dinner at Ohana's

We will be doing two tours: scuba diving in Epcot (you need to be certified for that one, but they also have snorkeling options if you are not), and the Wanyama Safari (since we are staying at the AKL, but I think there are similar ones you can do in AK)

We are also spending our first evening at the Boardwalk. And we are going to MNSSHP on our last night!

We were also considering doing a carriage ride but decided our schedule was full enough as it is! lol

Hope some of these ideas help. And looking forward to hear what other honeymooners are planing as well

Hello! My fiance and I will also be getting married this summer. We will be marrying July 14th and Disney-mooning immediately after.

Unfortunately, we aren't doing the planning, so I can't offer any suggestions from our plans. My parents graciously offered to plan and pay for the honeymoon and are surprising us 100%. We don't know where we're staying, eating, etc. I'm both thrilled and terrified :crazy2:

I do, however, have two suggestions based on my previous family trips. Try making reservations for California Grill late in the evening. You can actually enjoy your dinner while the fireworks are going on in MK. They pump in the music and everything - it's pretty fantastic. You can watch from your seat (if you get a window facing the castle) or go out to the roof to watch.

And if you guys are tea fans, I suggest getting reservations at the Garden View Lounge at the Grand Floridian for afternoon tea. It's high-tea and they have a few options to choose from. Whichever you choose you'll get at least tea sandwiches and your choice of tea. There's no dress-code and you can hop the monorail over from MK and then hop it right back to continue your day. It's really nice. I like it a lot.

I hope I helped a little :goodvibes

We're getting married in Aug, honeymooning in Sept as well. We've made sure that the fact that it's our honeymoon is on both our resort ressies, as well as our dining ressies.
I just had a "Just Married, Celebrating Disney Style" window cling made up for our room. I bought the pins off eBay just in case they are indeed sold out.

This is a second marriage for both of us, and we've only ever traveled to WDW with children, so going as just us is a big treat in itself. ;)

Congrats to all of you!!! :goodvibes

We go often, and all of your ideas sound great! For the OP, where are you staying? We love Ohana, as well as Cape May at the Beach Club. If you're heading to the Boardwalk, there are a few ice cream shops there, the sweets shop on the BW or there and Beaches & Cream in the Beach Club. There is a little lounge in the Beach Club called Martha's Vineyard that is usually pretty quiet. We like to go there by ourselves and have a drink or two at the bar. It's quiet and out of the way ;) We also really like hibachi, so we always make a stop at Teppan Edo in Epcot/Japan.

Narcoosee's at the GF is also really nice for dinner if you are seafood eaters!

I would definitely recommend a spa day! There is a Mandara Spa at the WDW Dolphin (buses go here as well as boats from HS and Epcot) that has a lot of awesome Couples Treatments. There is also a pretty extensive spa at Saratoga Springs. Endulge a little! :)

You could also take an illuminations cruise from the BW area- I think the boats actually leave from the YC marina, they take you right into Epcot to watch from the boat, or you can do the same at the MK resorts for Wishes.
Aaaaand you can go to the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party in the MK- you have to make reservations for this and pre-pay. We have been probably 50 times and are going for the first time in a few weeks. Most people don't know about it! I think June reservations should be opening up any day now if they havent yet! TIP- if it says there is no avail. for a party of 2, change it to 3 (2 adults and a child under 3 since children under 3 are free). :)

Have fun!

We are getting married and honeymooning in WDW in August. I have planned a Behind the Magic tour (I think that's the one with all four parks), Dinner with an Imagineer, and La Nouba. Plus we are staying Concierge - we decided (read: I decided ;) ) to do that instead of eat at a lot of restaurants...I've always wanted to try Concierge.

Have fun! :)

Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions. We are staying at a time share of my parents (so we dont have to pay for a resort), love wedding presents. We plan on being kids for an entire week so we also need some options on fun adventures.

Has anyone seen the Cirque Du Soleil in Downtown Disney?? Would love to see it but not sure if it worth the $$...Anyone have anyinsight?!?!

Congrats to everyone who is getting married this year, I hope it is the day of your dreams and hope your honeymoon is amazing!!!
