I just saw that Honey I Shrunk the Audience is permanently closing and Captain EO will temporarily come back but no word on the long term future??? Anyone hear anything?

This already happened like 6 months ago.

Yes HISTA is never coming back EO will stay till JII overhaul that will someday happen.

There are two plans for the theater.

1. The theater will have a new show most likely based off of Figgy and Dreamfinder.

2. The theater will be demolished to make way for more ride space.

I really enjoyed Captian EO last time i was there. Much more than HISTA

Better than HISTA but it doesnt really fit in EPCOT.

I was scared to death after HISTA. I was 7 when I first went and would not put my feet on the ground in any ride and also would not wear my sunglasses the rest of the day in fear that the snake would come at me. Can't wait to see Captain EO in May! Anyone have any info on this show would love to hear about it.

Couldn't we have a return of Magic Journeys for a limited engagement? If EO can return, why not the original film?

That way we would have something different, rather than leaving Captain EO there for years and years, until its such an embarassment Disney finally does something.

Lol that's why they got rid of it the first time!

Or, Number 3 . . .
. . . close it down like Body Wars, and seldom used Wonders of Life

Thanks for like no new info.

Hummm? They may 1. make a new show or 2. knock the theater down... what a great rumor.

I will agree with that but what I was wondering is if there is any word what that may be? I guess not at this point...

Well the new ride is supposed to bring back Dreamfinder with Figment and use the trackless ride system that Poohs Honey Hut in TDL and Mystic Manor in HKDL uses. It is an amazing system that is perfect for the the theme of imagination.

If you are not familiar with the system read this.

I did not know it was gone. Wasnt it a 3D show I love all of those

Yes, as is Captain EO.

I did not see Captain EO during its first run, so it was interesting to see it recently. I really don't need to see it again. Ever. It is WAY out of its time and just does not work. By today's standards, the animation is cheap and horrendous.

As for HISTA, I thought it was OK and fit the (current) theme of the pavilion - but I also thought that they had so badly worn out the film that it was just a bunch of fuzzy people with an occasionally 3D gimmick pop-out, and the freaky mice effect.

Are they still working out a new sponsor for the attraction? The rebuild of the ride hinges on that I'm sure.

Why would they need more ride space when the ride was shortened during the refurb yrs ago?

Because they cut out 40% of the ride and know it sucks. They ate fixing there mistake and this new ride system takes up a lot of space.
