Our trip is fast approaching (Jan. 22-30). We will be staying at the WL since this is DH and DS favorite resort. I have selected a few new restaurants for us to try. I would love honest opinion of the restaurants. DH is not thrilled with my choices, so if you anyone wants to make a suggestion of what they like to eat at the restaurant would be great.

Sat. Jan. 23
Dinner- Teppan Edo-

Sun. Jan. 24
O'Hana Breakfast- a must for us
Fantasmic Package- Brown Derby

Mon. Jan. 25
Tusker House Breakfast
Liberty Tree Dinner

Tues. Jan. 26
T-Rex- DS request

Wed. Jan. 27
BOMA Breakfast

Thurs. Jan. 28
House of Blues then La Nouba- DH choice

Fri., Jan. 29
Chef Mickey's Dinner- DS choice

Thanks!

You don't say which parks you are going to on which days but I think your choices look great :yay: You're letting your DH and DS have a couple of picks, you're nicer than me :rotfl:

I think your choices look good too.

No need suggest foods for the buffet and family style choices as you will get to sample it all.

At Brown Derby, I absolutely love the tuna. I've had it twice and both times it was an incredible piece of fish that was perfectly cooked.

At HOB, I had jambalaya and thought it was okay. I would probably try something different next time.

At Teppen Edo, I had scallops. I would choose it again.

I have not tried T-Rex.

I had the filet at Teppan Edo and it was amazing. In hindsight I wish I had tried the shrimp and steak, because the sirloin was very tasty as well (my BF had it).

I also had the Tuna at Brown Derby and it was phenomenal...it was my favorite entree that I had on my trip! The grapefruit cake gets mixed reviews but I loved it!

I will be very honest with ya, dont hold it against me :lmao:

Sat. Jan. 23
Dinner- Teppan Edo- DH loves hibachi anywhere but I didnt like it when we ate there in Aug...my local place gives you so much more for so much less, they do not have fried rice, appie shrimp, soup or salad either...it is all ala carte and they overcooked my filet to oblivion

Sun. Jan. 24
O'Hana Breakfast- a must for us Awesome, we love the food and the fun
Fantasmic Package- Brown Derby Have not heard many positive things about this place...

Mon. Jan. 25
Tusker House Breakfast Have heard the food is great but the noise is bad and the characters are hit and miss
Liberty Tree Dinner We had a fantastic lunch here last month, it was excellent!

Tues. Jan. 26
T-Rex- DS request I really want to eat here, the reviews are very good!

Wed. Jan. 27
BOMA Breakfast LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!

Thurs. Jan. 28
House of Blues then La Nouba- DH choice We have been here many times but not in a few years, the food was always excellent

Fri., Jan. 29
Chef Mickey's Dinner- DS choice Great for breakfast, horrible for dinner...the food is just awful!

I can only comment on Libery Tree and Tusker House.

We loved Tusker House and will be going back in 3 weeks! The food was great. It was noisy, but from what I understand most of the character meals are.

Liberty Tree - was good. Not bad at all, but nothing that I remember to make it fantastic. Is the menu changing with the closing of Crystal Palace?

In all honesty you are missing a gem of a place at your resort in the Whispering Canyon Cafe. We love that place. I would highly recommend it and since you are staying there how conveniet.

As for the others:

Honestly Ohana was very good as far as food, horrible service and so loud you can't carry on a conversation.

Chef Mickey's for dinner.....love it!!! The food was very good, we ate and ate!! Characters were great too.

Brown Derby, good but way over priced. We had dessert there but that was it, too expensive in our opinion.

Other than the above can't comment.

Comments in red.

I'm surprised you don't have WCC on your list since you are staying at the WL. Personally, we wouldn't go back -- bad service, bad food; but a lot of people like it.

Our family was seriously disappointed in Chef Mickey's. FWIW.

The night before we had a lovely dinner at Artist Point that was cheaper than our meal at CM. The kid's meals were $7.00 at AP. I shudder to think what we paid at CM's.

The characters were really rushed and we missed Minnie and Pluto at CM. Serious bummer. We tried stalking them in another room and were told they would do autographs but no photos.

I thought the food was OK. No better than your local golden corral. (Ouch!)

Splurging at Artist Point or California Grill will at least get you good food.

Thanks for all the honest reviews. WCC is not on the list because of the terrible service we received there on our last trip. The food was okay, but the service did us in. The Brown Derby is on the list because DH wants to do the Fantasmaic Package and we have done Mama's and Hollywood and Vine. Both were fine, but DH wants to try something new. My plan- keep the restaurants that I have ressies for, DH can just deal with it. Thanks again!

We have never eatten at Teppan Edo (heard it's good), but we love Le Cellier (our favorite restaurant from Dec 2009 trip)

Ohana Breakfast - we thought this was great. We had decent service and the food was very good. Cute characters.

Brown Derby - my husband and I didn't eat there, but my Mom-in-law and sis-in-law did and it was there 2nd favorite (next to Le Cellier)

Tusker House breakfast - a must do for future trips. There was a large assortment of food, and it was very tasty. Characters were a little rushed but we got some great pictures anyway. It's great being in the park before it opens. You are right next to the Safari Ride, so you can hop on it after you eat, or grab a fast pass @ 9am for a "quick on" trip later that morning. (FYI - the lunch buffet was excellent too)

I can't comment on the rest as I haven't tried them.

Have an awesome trip!
