A savanna view doesn't guarantee animals or animals that you will enjoy watching.
One time we had a wart hog view, another time we saw some birds.
The lobby area is where they keep the best animals.

When we stayed in July it was a savannah @ Kidani every morning over breakfast we got to see animals graze and it seems every evening around 5 o'clock it was pretty much the same routine. We loved it.
Lucky!
OP if you'll be in your room with time to spend watching animals, go for it. If you're not, don't. NOthing is more frustrating for a kid than to want some cool downtime (whether that's using the view you've booked or playing in a pool at a resort or whatever) but have the schedule interfere. Rope drop day you're barely going to be able to see the animals as you're getting ready, or they will try and you will have to keep calling them away to get ready. Not always a fun way to start the day. Room-change day you'll only have the room until what, 11? 10? can't remember, and then you'll be in the public areas or the pool if you stick around. Just not that much time to enjoy your view.
And that's IF you get animals that you are interested in.
