Honest opinion of ohana

Since this thread has some good feedback, I'm just wondering if anyone has had a 'late' reservation at Ohana. It seems like a lot of times only the 9:20-9:45 reservations are left at the 180 day mark. People mentioned already lower food quality and more rushed servers later at night. Just wondering how the experience is for people who go later in the day.

Yes, I have have wonderful experiences and good food. Both my visits have been after 9:00pm (ADRs at 9:30 and 9:50). Never had to wait more than a few minutes past ADR time. All the food was hot and fresh, didn't get the feeling anything had been lying around. Service was fine.

I will be taking my wife and daughter on their first trip to disney world in May. I feel really confident about all of our ADRs except ohana. I felt really good about it in the beginning but have recently been reading a lot of negative reviews. I'm looking for some honest input. I want this trip to be as perfect as I can get it and this is honestly one of the bigger struggles I've been having. It seems like a really cool experience, but it's expensive, especially if the food is subpar. What do you guys think? Help me make up my mind and thanks in advance.

We like it. The chicken can get a little dry at times. But for the most part it has been good. One of the things you have to watch out for on this site is the reviews. There was a time years back when everyone deadpanned O'Hana. OH NOES, IT'S IN DECLINE. ALL IS LOST!! ALL IS LOST!! Turns out all that happened is the Pineapple was replaced with bread pudding with banana's foster sauce which was actually an upgrade. People were upset they lost their pineapple so they deliberately deadpanned the whole thing.

'Ohana, like pretty much all Disney restaurants is inconsistent. Last visit, they rushed us through everything...50-55 min from check in with hostess to walking out after paying bill...food was reasonably good (minus the dumplings not being the same and not good). We've had other visits where things were painfully slow but food was good, some visits with bad service beyond speed issues but decent food, some where things go just right, and some where the meats were dry and/or overly fatty.

It's by no means awful IMO, but for us, we're tired of gambling with the inconsistency issues.

We've enjoyed Ohana's every visit year after year. Some have complained about under or overcooked meats. All you need to do is tell your server how you like your meats. Once we did that we've never had over cooked meats again.

We asked our server at least twice for our preferred meat cooking level, and every time they still had extremely well done steak brought out claiming that it was correct that time, so for us, this did not work.
