I have recently started bringing bowls to the movie theatre for popcorn. It's usually 4 or 5 of us that go and it's a pain with one bag of popcorn. Also I hate holding greasy popcorn in my hand or even with a napkin. So I found these nice little plastic bowls that fit in my purse and I've been brining them. My nieces and sister think it's embarrassing. I think people who see my bowls think "Hey, why didn't I think of that?" ... So do you think it's weird?

Just got home from TS3...(it's VERY good) which is why this came up. Niece made fun of me, but she used one of my bowls!

I do not think it is weird at all!! It is much more economical to order the largest size popcorn and share, than to buy each person a small bag of their own.:thumbsup2 My DD and I do this, but our Showcase Cinema has small paper bags for use when buying loose candy, and they do not mind you taking an extra to share popcorn.:) Joan

I actually tried bringing small paper lunchbags once, but the bottom of the bag still gets pretty greasy and it's easier to pour some popcorn into the bowls than the bags.

Ok! That's one not weird. :thumbsup2

I know that a couple of theaters near me will give people small white bags if they want to share popcorn. Maybe ask your theater about this. :confused3

Oh - I am soooo gonna do this. I'm pretty sure my niece and sister will make fun of me too, but how convenient is that! Three little girls, one bag, no mess...Thanks for the great idea!

I always take some sort of disposable container to the movies so that John and I can share a large popcorn,

Another check in the not weird category.

I have always asked the concession for water cups and fill them with popcorn for the kids. I just saw TS3 as well and when I was leaving I saw some paper bowls on the floor so it must not be that weird.

Weird.

Not weird like people should stare or point out the weirdness to their friends...but odd, different, out of the ordinary...weird.

My mother brought her own popcorn salt. Made them fill it halfway and butter, then bring it to her and she'd salt that half. Then they had to fill it the rest of the way and butter that and bring it back. :faint: Double-weird! And kinda rude, too.

We all have our weirdnesses. It would be a boring world if we didn't!

Enjoy your popcorn.

I have seen it done but never tried it i normaly don't eat in the theater most of the time i eat at crispers before and coldstone after.

No, but Kevin is. :rotfl2:

Okay, that one for "it's only weird when Kevin does it!" :lmao:

PS...I tried asking for water cups once. They gave me a dixie size cup! It held about 5 pieces of popcorn!

Forget bringing tubs..I bring my own popcorn for the DW and I...

Not weird at all. Pretty clever, actually.

But then again you're looking at a man who brings a jar of sliced jalapenos into the movies with him to pour over the theater nachos... :lmao:

Not weird, unless I am weird, too. I actually take cups. They fit in the cupholders that way and they are less likley to spill. Then a juice in the other one. I try to take the disposable cups, but I was out once and took plastic ones which were bigger, so they held more.

I forgot them today to see TS3, but the they gave us mini nacho trays (without a cheese spot) to put it in. It worked, but they had to hold it instead of using the cup holder.

That's not weird at all! It's very smart actually! My mom used to do this when my brother and I were younger.

HA! The movie we usually go to won't give you anything...at least not for free. I asked for an empty kid's box once (they put a little popcorn in it, a small drink and a mini bag of Skittles) and they said "Sure, but you would still have to pay the price of the kid's fun pack."
