Homewood Suites & Hilton Grand - thoughts please

Hi,
We are booking a last minute trip this weekend. We need a one bedroom hotel and I have looked at the listing of official and partner hotels for SW and out of the ones available I have Homewood Suites or Hilton Grand. My practical side says Homewood to save money (about $170) but I would prefer Hilton. I notice there aren't many reviews on this board for Homewood so I am hoping someone can offer their opinion.

One bedroom and cleanliness are very important to me. We normally stay in condos so a hotel in Orlando is new for me. I do frequent trip advisor but both hotels had roach pictures in the last 6 months so that doesn't make me very happy.

We have the SW fun card so we don't need any deals right now.

Here are my initial thoughts......

Pros for Homewood Suites: cheaper, and includes breakfast.

Pros for HGVC: is a SW official hotel (free one-time-per-attraction Quick Queue), free transportation to the parks (no parking charge unless you choose to drive), more upscale property, nicer pool and recreation areas, washer & dryer in the room. Its also closer to SeaWorld (0.5 miles vs. the 3.5 miles to Homewood Suites).

Your stay at Homewood Suites would entitle you to $5 off Quick Queue per person, if you decided you wanted to have QQ for your SW day(s). This QQ would be for unlimited use, unlike the free limited use QQ provided by the official hotels.

The HGVC looks marvelous, and would be my first pick between the two....especially if that's the one that really "grabs" you. But if you have a car at your disposal and your stay is short (making the laundry facilities a non-issue), then you could probably save a bit by staying at Homewood Suites.

Thankfully my decision was made for me and I booked Homewood. Hilton was booked. Really it's better that way and the money I am saving will pay for the rest of the trip for food and gas.

I am sure it will be fine and the trip is so short we won't use a lot of the amenities Hilton would have offered.

Ya know, sometimes its so much easier when fate takes over and makes those tough decisions on our behalf!
