Harrison Community Schools announced it will close for the next 7 days because of a probable case of H-1-N-1 flu virus.

The district says it will close after the health department tested a potential sample of the flu virus.

As of now the school plans to reopen next Tuesday...............

50 miles south of us. Ok, what am I missing here.

Michigan has 2 confirmed cases. 45 samples out to be tested, which has a 72 hour turn around for results. This area is not on on the state list or the CDC list.

not to mention the CDC has not stated this is a more virulent strain of influenza.........& (I don't remember if I said this or not but) seasonal influenza kills 36,000 & hospitalizes 200,000 Americans every year!
We have had rather mild flu seasons for the past few years thanks to the increase in the flu vac use......now what is going to be interesting about h1n1 is that no one has immunity to it & there is no vaccine yet..........next flu season (Oct) is when we may need to hold onto out hats.
