Hometown Heroes Book Released...

I know that there were many of you who followed Fred Dodd's Desert Dispatch reports last winter/spring. Fred was the reporter embedded with my son's unit.

Well, we got our copy of the book over the weekend - 200 pages, over 500 colored photos, and all of the Desert Dispatch articles.

As I sat and poured over the book this weekend, I found six photos of my son!!! There's a wonderful photo of him standing, shaving using the rearview mirror of a truck. He's shaving, with an M16 rifle over his shoulder and a gas mask bag on his hip.

He came over yesterday afternoon and sat and looked through the book, and I noticed him sitting and shaking head. I didn't ask questions, but I'm assuming that the book is really bringing back a lot of memories - probably some he'd rather forget.

One of the final pictures in the book is the picture in my signature.

Patty, I'm sure this book is an incredible masterpiece! I can only imagine the memories it brought back to your Bobby..........memories as you said are sure to be ones he would rather not remember. To have found so many photos of Bobby must have been wonderful!!

Is this book in the bookstores? I would love to be able to see it.

The books just came in from the publisher last week. I had 5 copies pre-ordered, so I was allowed to go and pick them up.

I've heard that they will be available at Barnes and Noble locally. If I hear of any other location, I'll let you know.
