Homeschool day is October 3, 2011 and the weeks before and after are full of individual Y.E.S. programs, so of course when I found out about it, I booked our dates right away and then got our tickets as soon as the classes were opened for registration. I even convinced DH this is much too good of a deal to pass up (and he went for it! :woohoo:).

Any other HSers out there coming to the Fort for HS Days? Our dates are 9/28-10/10, with us doing classes on the 30th, 3rd, 4th & 7th. If you are there too, wave hi (and if anyone may be interested in a meet-up, we're game!). :hippie:

No, unfortunately not. :sad2:

I just spoke with someone at the YES program office today. Since we are annual passholders, we are not allowed to sign up and pay for only the classes and/or Homeschool Days activities. We must also purchase at least a 3 day park ticket as well. I was told there is no other way to enroll in the YES classes/Homeschool Day activities as an annual passholder.

This is very frustrating to me, as I feel there should be some accommodation for those who have APs to attend the classes which are offered. I was told that if I purchase the YES Program/Homeschool Days park tickets, I can only use them within the dates specified for the program. I cannot upgrade them to non-expiry for a later use. So they are pretty much useless to me, and I feel I am being penalized for owning an annual pass. I was excited to find out that there were several YES Program classes available during our stay, but now I am realizing that this is not an option for us. Oh well....

:scared1: They really should do something to fix that! Well, you just convinced me to not buy an AP, I was actually considering it. Not now.

There really needs to be alterations to that so AP kids can take part in the classes too. That just doesn't make sense! :confused3

I'm sorry. Would have liked to say hi to you.

I'm thinking of calling again to speak with another person. This all just makes no sense to me. I was told the tickets for classes/parks are sold as a "package", and cannot be sold any other way. That's hard to believe.

Anyway, we'll be there the last two weeks in September. I had planned on staying over for the Homeschool Days activities, but since that's not an option, I guess we'll go on home.

Yes, call again. We need to get that policy changed. What a disservice to AP holders! But, if you are there the last 2 weeks, we may overlap. Maybe I'll see ya! :goodvibes

We'll be there but won't be able to attend any classes. It would be fun to meet up if possible :)

For sure! I think it would be great to have a meet-up if possible. For both the moms and the kids. We can e-support each other, and if there are similarly aged kids, the kiddos can become e-pals after we all go our separate ways again. :thumbsup2

Homeschooler here! BUT we had our reservations before I knew there was such thing as homeschool days at Disney so we are going to be there Oct 16-22. Hello fellow homeschoolers!

We'll be at the cabins Sep 29- Oct 6 and participating in classes on the 30th, 3rd (iffy), and 7th. Our children are DS13 and DD11. Would love to meet y'all.

Hello! Sorry we won't be at the Fort the same time, but have a great trip! I didn't know about Homeschool Days either until I started pulling up various places we like to go and checking on their education programs. Lo and behold, Disney Y.E.S. program popped up too, so of course I jumped right on that! :yay: I see this becoming our big annual trip to The World.

Awesome! I have a DD11, too and we are also participating on those days, plus on the 4th at AK. We are staying until the 10th (coming in on 9/28), so maybe we can work it out to meet up, especially if our kiddos are attending the same classes. Your DS may not be interested in meeting up (teens are like that, lol), but maybe both the DDs would like to meet at the pool and get to know each other. :goodvibes

well, we will be there 9-23~10-8 but didnt know about it. My daughter plans to homeschool but the baby is just 13 mos now. I think we have a lot of opportunities out there and it will be fun learning new things right along with her!!! looking forward to EVERYTHING!!
