*** Homeschool List ***

Yep, that's the store. We go to the one in Avon.

Hi,
I would love to be added to the homeschool list. We have been Hs since '99.
We started out with Learning at Home,(I think this is a great way to start K and 1st grade), it was very comprehensive. Next, we moved to Lifepacs(DS really enjoyed these). After having our second child I switched to Switched on Schoolhouse. These were great because they did everything for me. (I was sleep deprived for quite some time). This year we are starting a Classical Curriculum. I will let you know how that goes.(Should be receiving curriculum materials Friday).

We got the schoolroom painted last night. The curtains have been ordered. Now, I just need some bookshelves and I would love a loveseat to cuddle and read on.

Awesome!! I love our school room...I think it used to be a den when the last people lived here but it's just perfect. It has huge glass doors that lead out on to a deck and just beyond that many many many birds make their homes. We love to bird watch right out our school room doors/window. I wish we had a room for a love seat...

Instead we went with a huge desk for me, a kitchen table sized table for the boys to all work on and four large bookcases. Maybe one day we can rearrange and I will be lucky enough for a loveseat!! :)

Enjoy your cuddle time on the couch!

Our school room is one of the bedrooms we are not using. Need to get it finished for our September 18th first day of school.

We bird watch out our kitchen.

I have a card table I am going to set up for now, but I would like to get a nicer looking table to work at. There is also an ancient desk in the room that is covered in plants. Guess I need to find another place for those.

Hi everyone!!

Just another homeschooler checking in. This is going on our 3rd year homeschooling. I am currently schooling 5th grade daughter, and 2nd grade son.

We would love to be added to the list.

Also, I would like to thank everyone for all the excellent suggestions for "learning round' the World". You have all saved me so much time for my upcoming April trip.

Blessings

I got our Calvert order on Friday. I ordered 5th grade and Pre-K, but after looking over the Pre-K, I realized the Kindergarten would be better for my DD4, so I ordered that instead. We're starting on September 5th. Can't wait!!!

Hi!

I just stumbled over this website in preparing a world history course for my 2 high school aged homeschoolers.

http://studentsfriend.com/

Since this is often a difficult subject to teach, I thought I'd share this website with others here.

Thanks for sharing!!

Just wanted to stop by and say hello. I haven't been on the boards much in the past several months. We haven't nailed down a date that we will officially start. We have been working on a few things this summer but on a VERY relaxed schedule. I plan on working up some lesson plans this week and then we'll see where we are.

I appreciate the websites that have been shared along with the books.

Just coming to these boards.

We are officially homeschooling this year.

Can someone point me to a possible thread about homeschooling things to do at Disney for a 1st and possible 2nd grader?

I'll look for a search feature. I was going to start a thread, but didn't want to get 'flamed' for starting one that could have a FAQ out there.

I just wanted to say 2 things.

1. Play foam is really fun stuff. You can create anything with it and it never dries out. It is like floam, but less expensive.

2. I Found a really neat DVD for DD. It is the Peanuts gang teaching about American history, by being in the different places and such. I haven't watched it yet, but bought it on recommendation from someone else. I am going to give it to DD for her 4th birthday next month. I bought it at Target.

Denine--where did you get the play foam? DS wants floam but it is so expensive for what you get.

Oh, and another thing--I thought you would be interested to know that I ordered American Story 1 from WinterPromise. It should be here in about a week. I cannot wait!!!
