Does anyone have a recipe for homemade playdough or clay?

The son of one of my co-workers is allergic to many things, and since the Playdoh website does not list it's ingrediants, she doesn't want to let him play with it. He starts a new school on Monday and the teacher made her own, but doesn't remember exactly what was in it.

I thought I'd see if I could find a good recipe for her.

I've got a book of 'em at school, but I can't remember right now. I've got different "doughs" that use sawdust, coffee grounds, peanut butter, etc. I won't be back to school until Tuesday........can she wait that long?

Oh, sorry, I see not.............

She doesn't even know that I've asked. But we're having a baby shower for her at the end of next week, so if you did get them to me Tuesday or Wednesday, I could put together a little recipe book of them.

I know that he is allergic to peanuts/peanut butter though...so we'll probably want to avoid that one.

Thank you!!

I'll send 'em to you Tuesday afternoon..........

I use this one all the time:

3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. salt
3 tbsp oil
3 tbsp cream of tarter
3 c. water.

Mix all together and then stir over medium-high burner until forms into ball.

I do that large batch with my daycare kids but it could be cut down. The best way to know it is done is to grab some and play with it. If it is sticky, it needs to cook longer.
