Not sure if to post this here or on the cruise boards. Please would someone post pictures of homemdae Pirate costumes from Pirate night on a Disney Cruises. Also, if anyone has any ideas for a pirate costume I would greatly appreciate it. BTW it is for a female. TIA Tink

I've never been to pirate night on a cruise, but I am often a pirate for Halloween in my classroom.

I wear black pants and a white blouse and black tall boots. That way I can look normal going to work! Then I made a sash out of red and white striped pirate material that i got at JoAnn Fabrics. I sewed white fringe on the short ends, but you wouldn't have to do that.

I also bought a black, pirate kercheif hat type thing with a skull on it.

I also wear an eyepatch. You can get these at Walgreens.

Here is a picture of my daughter wearing the sash and hat!

I am no seamtress so we always check out the thrift stores. Google authentic pirate costumes and get some basic style idea. Blousey sleeves. scoop neck vests layered skirts(long and short) I have several pieces I mix and match with. Staying with basic black ,red , white and dark green. Fishnet hose and dark shoes with a big buckle. will try to post a pic. We usually have other guests mistake us for cast memebers and always lots of compliments:) see my avitar photo with my daughter.

For MNSSHP one year, I put together a quick and easy pirate costume for myself. I found a red and white striped shirt for about $5 at Walmart and then also bought a meshy material black scarf to tie around my waist. I then bought a men's black tshirt and cut it down the middle and cut the sleeves off to make it look like a vest with ragged edges.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I am going to go to a thrift store tomorrow and see what I can find. I am also going to stop at the fabric store on my way home. One of my dd's have asked if she can wear black jeans, black boots a white shirt and a bandana. I told her I could work with that.
