Homemade Hamper Ideas

Hi guys

I'm going to make a food hamper for my inlaws for christmas. I'm going to make Christmas cake, jams, biscuits, chutney, mince pies and truffles.

I'm a bit stuck on savoury items, I can only think of cheese straws......and suggestions and recipes welcome.

If you're not wrapping it up, you could put a pork pie, cheeses and pate in it. If you are wrapping it up then crackers, tin of ham or salmon, and don't forget a bottle of fizzy or mulled wine

We received one last year with all homemade goodies and it was fab!

We had some Piccalilli,cheese scones, pate, pickled onions and some infused olive oils (one chilli and the other rosemary i think).

Great idea! You could make some homemade crisps perhaps? I'm not much of a cook.

I wouldn't mind doing something similar for DBF. Does anybody know where I could buy a suitable basket?

I got my baskets from my local charity shop 1 of them only cost me 49p!! x

loads of baskets all shapes and sizes in ikea if you have one near you. I got a few yesterday to make my christmas hampers

Hey Sam!

Just going along with what Mandy said about making a pie.
You could make mini pasties and pies with a festive twist. Like turkey, cranberry and stuffing for example.

What about different breads? There's loads of recipes on the net for different flavour breads which we wouldn't necessarily think of.

I love your ideas for savoury items.

My kids love to make their teachers mini hampers, we've already made tom chutney from Toms we grew in the garden this year.
