Tied fleece blanket, coupons for things that you can do later as a family. Don't forget on-line shopping! Prayers for some rest for you during this busy season!
I am making dh a date night envelope. I got movie passes and cerificates from Restaurant.com. All I am doing is printing them out and mounting them on cardstock and putting them in a handmade card.
You could make him a scrapbook, or a CD (or MP3) collection of music he has liked through the years.
restrauant.com has movie passes?
No, sorry, bad grammar. I got movie passes from Fandango.com.
Get DH in on the action. Since money is tight just have DH pick up things that he needs/wants anyway. Where is the money coming from for your presents? If money is so tight tell DH to split the budget he would spend on you and buy a few things for himself that you can wrap up and put under the tree for him. You can just gift bag them if wrapping is too much.
Cheap suggestions:
can of nuts
beef jerkey
socks
undies
work shirt
new warm gloves
a family DVD (The Blind Side can be had for under $10)
Kids don't realize the cost of things, so long is there is something for him to open, they will be happy
How about making up some coupons for future redemption? (favorite meal of your choice, wash your car, back rub, ETC!). Sometimes the best things in life are free![]()
I am having him wrap the baby stuff we/I will need. Breast pads, nursing pjs, diaper rash cream, wipes, diapers, etc. which I have already bought.
Were you working before? Because if you were you should be getting disability and that would help with gifts.
I really can't help much, if you can't get out of bed then there's not much you can make unless you can knit or something. You could make the coupons, those are always fun, you could print a bunch of photos and tell him you will pick a frame after the babies are born, you could have your girls make him stuff too, they can make pictures for him and give him coupons too. Why not put together a "date night" packet anyway? Just print up a couple of certificates for movie rentals and pizza night, then add popcorn and if you have it some candy, if you don't have the candy you can always ask him to get it and then just put it aside until you can wrap it for him.
A little harsh? She is on bed rest so she can't drive. She'd like to have something under the tree for her husband and he is doing that for her by wrapping up some essentials so she has something to unwrap. The bed rest has put her in a position where she cannot do much of anything.I am seriously confused. You already have 2 kids yet a few weeks of bed rest is putting you into a tail spin where someone needs to wrap diaper cream and diapers for you for Christmas. What is your plan for the future? You can't afford a can of nuts for DH. What are you going to do if you have to take a few extra weeks off from work to care for twins?
I am trying to think of coupons or things to do on the computer. will be allowed up Dec 23rd which is 35 weeks. I might just put a few of his books under the tree. He does not wear cologne so that one is out. I actually had just bought him a can of Beef Jerky the day before I was put on bed rest. Luckily he had not got into that so I had the 7yr old take it out of the cabinet and I hid it in our closet on a bathroom trip. so that will be under the tree.Boy I don't know how you can do anything if you are on bedrest. When I had my second child I too was on bedrest and I was restricted to going to the bathroom and that was it.
If you are worried about just the kids than have DH wrap up something he already has. A book the kids wouldn't recognize....clothes...cologne, kids never pay attention to that and these are desperate times.
If you're worried about your DH grab a gift bag and stick his favorite nightie (of yours) into it with a promise for the future. (to be opened after the kids go to bed of course) or if the way to his heart is through his stomach make him a coupon for his favorite meal by candle light after baby is born. It will bring a smile to his face.....and please don't forget that the best gift is the baby your making. It's not about the stuff..... Happy Holidays!
