Homecoming

Okay, so that team that was supposed to be horrible, well they got good fast. we lost 40-0. (I know, so humiliating. I was hanging out in the press box and the TV guys were calling it pitiful that we were loosing our homecoming.) It wasn't totally our fault though. We played our hardest (three guys got hurt. they're okay, but the EMTs were on the field twice)

The seniors won the float contest, and let me tell you, the juniors and i got ROBBED!!

oh well. we'll kill em next year. ;)

Our Homecoming is on October 21. We have a pep rally, a huge game, and a dance. If you don't have a date for the dance, you usually don't go. We still have a lot of kids going though.

Well, I'm coming in a little late on this, but here's what our homecoming is like:

Thursday of that week we have this huge talent show thing (called Varsity Revue)... it's hard to describe but it's a pretty big production. Friday we have a pep rally during school, then the game is that night. Our stadium is always PACKED for the homecoming game (and we have a pretty big stadium). Of course they introduce the homecoming court during halftime and they announce the winners for each class (Sophomore, Junior, Senior).

Saturday we have Varsity Revue again in the late afternoon and Saturday night is the dance. We have a theme every year - last year was Neon Nights and the year before was TV Reruns (I think). This year it's Disney. Everyone dresses really casually and this year people are going to dress up as Disney characters etc. It's gonna be pretty cool.

Ours is really late this year - mid October.

Our theme this year is "Around the World" which kinda stinks.
Our schedule (except for the exact dates, which revolve around the Homecoming game) is the same every year:

Friday before the technical week: Pep rally - about 2-3 hours long. The games during it give points to the class who wins (same thing with hall decorating, participation in dress-up stuff, etc.) and then the class with the most points gets a "Golden Goat" to go in our display case. Yes, that is how pathetic we are.
Monday: We have off this year for Columbus Day.
Tuesday: Hall Decorating at night and during the day, the band goes through the halls and marches and plays and all that good stuff.
Wed.: Something that I should know but don't...
Thurs: Powder Puff game and bon fire
Friday: Formal pep rally where king/queen are announced. It lasts a good 2 hours.
Friday night: Homecoming game. The band does the half-time show. Unfortunatly for me, all of my friends, ALL of them, are in the band and have to sit on one restricted part of the stadium so I sit there by myself for the first half. Luckily, it's football. Also in our halftime show, as it has been for years, is our fire baton twirler. She's won national contests and was in a Dolly Parton music video. Yup - that's my high school's claim to fame.
Saturday night: Semi-formal dance. It has absolutly nothing to do with the theme.

Throughout the week, we have specific dressing days according to the theme. I cannot recall exactly which day is which.

My Homecoming is October 20. We have a spirit week and it's REALLY fun!

PJ Day
RED WHITE AND BLUE DAY/ SENIOR DAY
DECADE DAY
CELEBRITY DAY
HAWIIAN DAY
We have a float and Hallway Decoration competition.
This year I'm thinking about being a cabbage patch kid for celebrity day.

my homecoming is in the first week of october. we have a spirit week with pj day, purple and white day, decade day, and fictional character day and something else idk. then we have a pep rally on friday, a bon-fire and a dance, the next day we have our parade float competition and game. And guess what? I'm singing the national anthem before the game and like the entire town is going to be there ( small town everybody knows everybody). I'm so excited!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :thumbsup2

that's soooo cool! I'm in Middle School so we don't have one of those. but I'm glad you had fun!
