Hello all!

We are trying to book Homecomin’ for our trip in February but there is no availability at all on the Disney system. I read on here a few years ago that calling the restaurant directly was a good idea as they have much more availability, but when we just called, they said all reservations go through the Disney system. Does anyone have any experience of getting reservations there recently?

Thanks!

I have found that its very hard to get a reservation for 2. When I put 3 I get them to come up. I have also gone day of and gotten a table. Calling couldn't hurt

My 60 day ADR window opened today, and I was barely able to get a 5 PM reservation for 9 days into our trip.

I had no idea this place was so popular. It was actually easier to get Space 220.

I was able to get it at the 60-day mark for late January, but keep in mind that they do take walk-ups at Homecomin'. If all else fails, try to get there early, and you may be able to do a walk-up instead.

Is it OK to book for three and show up with only two? I wouldn’t want to get charged for the missing third person. It’s very strange that like you say there is much more availability for three people than two!

It seems to be because they set aside spots for walk ups from what others are saying. The lack of availability doesn’t make sense otherwise!

Thanks Ellie! I did see that they take walk ups so we may have to do that if nothing else comes up!

This is absolutely true. It comes down from the chef owner Art himself. They don't like to be the kind of place that is unavailable to most ppl. So it's their policy to hold back a LOT of their tables to same day, walk up ppl. We had a nice long convo w/ one of the managers on this. He as a WONDERFUL guy and spent so much time with us. We found out because we had gotten an ADR there and were so super impressed we were hoping we could get another return experience before our vacation ended. That's when the manager told us Art's philosophy. <3

Get there when they open on a weekday and you should have no problem getting a table.

One of our favorite restaurants, we ate there earlier this month during our trip and it was one of the best meals of the trip.

Homecomin’ is great, it’s a pain to get reservations but worth it. The last few times we went we would check the MDE app daily and find a reservation that periodically pop up. Again, it’s a pain but worth it. I use a complex scientific method called “ABC” which stands for Always Be Checking. Good luck!

We have done it and I have to do it again for my trip in February. They have never said anything. We just say only two of us could make it. It’s one of our favorite. If you have room try the humming bird cake. It is so good.

They hold most of their tables for walk-ups.

Don't let a lack of reservation deter you - we've never had a long wait, and they just text you when your table is ready so you can shop while you wait. Always worth it!

That’s great news. How long would you say the wait is on average?

I called today for a reservation because that's what I've always done and they said they hold 75% of their tables for walk up.
That’s a relief for me because I was gonna do it when I’m there in 2 weeks and was scared of missing out since I can never get a reservation through MDE the last few times I’ve been to WDW.

I’ve never snagged an ADR. I always call for reservations or done walk-up at or before 6 pm with no issue. This includes twice during the pandemic.

I called yesterday to check and the hostess said they don't take reservations over the phone anymore. :sad1:

yes, i had a reservation for a party of 3, but my brother and wife couldn't make it, so the hostess adjusted the reservation. I was there on Monday around lunch time and saw several people walk up and get in with like 30-45 min waits.
