We have a 5 year old daughter.

I tried to get Chef Mickey’s breakfast for the day that worked best for us, but it wasn’t available. I ended up booking homecomin brunch instead. I have set up an alert but wondering if it’s even worth switching?

we do have H&V lunch and Topolino’s breakfast for later on in the trip. I’d really only do Chef Mickey’s for the characters, but is it worth it if doing the other 2? I’m sure the food at Homecomin is probably better. Any advise?

That's completely up to you. Chef Mickey's and Homecomin are two wildly different experiences, in different places. With H&V and Topo, you and your daughter will be having fun with or without CM's.

If you'll be in the Springs, then Homecomin all day, imo.
If you'll be near MK, and want the experience and the characters, then CM's is the way to go.

Don't overthink it. If you get the CM's ressie, then have your switch of plans in place if you want it. I'd assume there is a pretty good chance you'll get the CM's ADR, but it might not be immediate, so just be prepared to switch plans at any time. You can also check the day before, when plenty of people drop their adr's. Also, keep in mind the real logistics of travel to either. Time is money in Wallyworld.

We are staying for 9 nights so I’m not so much worried about the travel to Disney Springs since we have plenty of other park days. We are doing a Polynesian/BC split and that’s the day we switch resorts. We have Epcot booked for the day, but since we are at the Poly I thought about CM.

I may pass though and keep homecomin with the other 2 character meals. I feel like Homecomin is slightly cheaper than CM too.

Ok, so now that you've fully explained the sitch - logistically, if you were thinking of going from Poly to CM's to Epcot to BC, that's an easy, smooth plan, totally makes sense and easy to see how it fits, especially when Epcot opens later in the am.

Yes! That’s why I was thinking CM. I’ll see and ask my husband what he’d rather. Since we are doing CRT and BOG later on in the trip for our daughter.
