homeaway vs. vrbo

We've rented before using vrbo. I've been looking for our next trip and there appears to be a lot more available on homeaway.com. However, we've never booked a trip using homeway.

Anything different using homeaway vs. vrbo? Anyone have any positive experiences booking through homeaway.com?

Home Away and VRBO are both owned by same party, as is Vacation Rentals. Both are equally as good and reputable. Home Away to me seems a little more user friendly, so I usually go there first, but always check both out when exploring options. Home Away probably has less properties than VRBO. VRBO has more pictures (allows up to 16). I'd rent from either.

I can honestly tell you that I have rented from both and haven't ever had a bad experience. Both were very good to use and I agree with the previous poster about homeaway being more user-friendly. Either one should be just fine to use.....have fun searching.

really though homeaway was owned by someone else.

they advertise on tv - so their advertising would be higher.

On the VRBO page it says VRBO from HomeAway. On the guarantee page all the sites are listed: http://guarantee.homeaway.com/
I've used both also and found no difference.
