Good Afternoon to you all,

I have been trying to research some of the "Home Party" businesses to see what is out there and what is a good choice. I am in hopes that some of you that may be consultants/representatives of some of them may have some insight or information that may help me to better understand "your" company, which in turn may help me to decide if this is what I would like to do. Also do any of you do more than one company, and how does that work for you?

If any of you would like to share your knowledge, insight or advice I would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Here's my advice for you, you have to pick something you feel strongly about otherwise you will burn out and just be out money.

I sold Discovery Toys, I really enjoyed it and made some pocket money. I have a child with special needs and found a lot of the toys were geared for her. I was able to tap into my school moms for parties. I did it for about 3 years then stopped only because life started to get to hectic.

Good luck

Before you decide on any company, I would do a little "market" research and also decide who your target audience/client base will be.

There are only so many parties you can go to and also the co. will see how many reps they have already in the territory.

Also some people already have mindsets like Sue is my Avon lady, Pat is my Pampered Chef girl etc.

My sis sold Avon and made a ton. She sold it where she worked and I worked across the street and I took books to work too and she had my cousin take some to her job too. My cousin did it to get stuff at cost.

Best of luck deciding and hope it works out for you.

You're probably not going to get a lot of specifics here due to the rules about advertising/soliciting. Check out wahm.com, great forum with lots of info on all the party plans!

I know a bunch of people who have gotten into a variety of home party businesses and always in the end quit because they never made the part time money that the corporations/recruiters promote. On the other hand I also know a woman who has done the home party business very very sucessfully for several years now. She makes a LOT of money at it. But a word to the wise if you want to make more than pocket change you have to be willing to do what she does - every Saturday is spent marketing her business. She goes to every single craft fair in a 50 mile radius and sets up a table where she spends her entire saturday marketing her products and her parties. She does parties any night of the week that a person requests and she travels a LONG way to do it. She makes money at it because it is NOT a part time business for her. She works 35 to 40 hours a week at this.
