Thanks, they only take about 20 min to make. I also ordered him a marble set that has building sticks that he can make pig houses with.

My hubby makes something for our girls every year......this year he's making them each desks for their bedrooms

Previously he's made them AG bunk beds with handsewn quilts, mattresses, and pillows and a beautiful barn for my 10 year old DD's Breyer horses.

Not usually to save money (b/c the wished-for things tend to be expensive to produce), but because sometimes what they have their heart set on just isn't commercially available.

This year it's going to be a cape and cap set for DD3; she really wants to be able to dress up as Linny the Guinea Pig from the Wonder Pets.

BTW, my dad was a cabinetmaker and also made dollhouse furniture for me. He died thirty-five years ago, and those pieces are still being played with every day by his granddaughters.

My dd8 does competition all star cheer, so she has to wear shorts to the gym all year round. It gets cold here in NY so she wears fleece sweatpants over her shorts every day. She LOVES the smurfs so I bought a Smurfs snuggie and made her sweats out of the smurfs fleece. I also made Kermit, HSM, and cheer print pants.

I made fleece boa scarves for her entire cheer team and the coaches for the holidays as well. They got them last week though so everyone could wear them for the first competition. They were a HUGE hit with everyone.

Sure thing! Here are the bunk beds... one is a triple bunk and the other is a regular double bunk. He made the beds, mattresses, quilts, and pillows

And the barn....

I forgot about the AG desks he's also making for them this year.... He's making them each one to go along with the regular sized desks for their room. I told him that once they see the AG sized ones, they'll want one for each of their dolls

I'm using Kwik Sew # 3787 for my girls aprons (found out these don't go on sale much!) McCalls# 2854 for the cape.The material for the cape was 2 Hot Pink curtains I picked up at a thrift store for 5.oo. I buy all the McCalls and Simplicity when they are on sale for 99 cents. McCalls # 5794 is a good match for AG doll Julies P.J.'s, pattern is for knits so I'm going to tweak it a bit. The Ski mask I found on ehow, just did a search for fleece ski mask. Same with the felt play food, looked at pictures and did my own thing. There is a free chef hat directions on youcanmakethis.
Last year we made doll beds for the AG's and quilts and sheets.

My son's quilt is all raggedy and he wants a Domo blanket. I bought a nice comforter for him and am stitching a nice little fleece Domo on it for him. It's turning out really cute. I hope he likes it! One side will have a regular brown Domo, and the other will have the Ninja Domo.

I make jewelry as a fun hobby for myself so my girls are getting some fun bracelets to wear. I make bracelets mostly, they are so fun to do, both stretchy and memory wire styles.

I love them!!! My DH would freak out for a gift like that! I used to do the fimo clay, but I was never that good.

I'm making my daughter and her American Girl doll matching no sew tutus. Last week we made a fleece pillow and sleeping bag for the doll also. (Also no sew)

Great idea!!! I was already making a new pillow and blanket for DD9, but I never thought to match it with her doll! Thanks!

I made my GD who just turned 5 a no sew ballet tutu. First time I have ever done one and I think it turned out pretty darn good if I do say so myself. I was a bit worried. What do you think? Finished it in one night of course I started at 7 and finished at 2:00 am.

If you make them please post pictures, I would love to see your version! I have to confess I already gave them to my son. He is the type of kid who is completely into something and then will switch gears and be completely into something else and I was afraid I might lose the window. He loves them! I am saving the marble/wood planks for Christmas so he can truly play angry birds with them, but for now he is loving them and asking me every day to make new ones. Yesterday we made 2 pigs and a boomerang bird.

His other passion is Little Big Planet, so I was thinking about maybe trying to make a sockboy next........

What talent your DH has! I especially love the barn - I've never seen anything like it!

I am making doll clothes for my youngest DD's bitty baby. Also matching Xmas dresses for her and her doll.

My sister is making all the kids their own scrapbooks of our recent Disney trip.

I made (for Disney trip, not Xmas) quillows, out of fleece (pink ballerina for ydd, green camo for ds, black white and pink skull for odd) and matching pillows and scarfs from the leftover fabric and they love them.

Also when my ds went camping with scouts I made him a pillow from fleece (New England Patriots) and a matching one for dh

Thinking for ydd's 5th birthday a doll armoire for all those new doll clothes, but thats something dh & ds could do.

I really want to make quilts for all the kids beds, so hoping that Santa will bring me a sewing machine this year... maybe next year they will get their quilts

DD and DS each a quilt with girl/boy scout fabric (as appropriate), matching pillowcases will be the "wrapping".

PJ pants for DS. All his are 3" too short (those growing teens!)

Doll clothes for DD's AGs (and neice's AGs too)

DH is going to try to make AG dog for each DD and my neice, if that happens, I have to figure out dog harnesses
